Lucy and I

Lucy and I thought we would take a minute to pop in and wish everyone a very Merrry Christmas!  It is sure cold here.  But Lucy is bundled up!  Isn't this a cute little stamp?  I couldn't resist although Lucy would never allow me to put anything on her head.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

Merry Christmas Cards

My intention was to post often this season but my plans didn't work out.  So today you get three of my cards I made this year.   Nothing exceptional about any of them but if you have questions, please feel free to ask. The first card is all Stampin Up!, the second one is a stamp from Stampendous and the third a stamp from Penny Black.  I hope you are all ready for Christmas.  I finally am all set to go!  It is a big job, isn't it?    I hope you all have a safe and fun Holiday with family and friends.

Happy trails to you...

Christmas Cards

My plan was to post every day or at the least once a week to show the cards I  made this Christmas.  Well, the best laid plans certainly didn't pan out!   Here are a couple of new cards.   The penguin is a darling Whimsy stamp that my friend, Bicka has. She was visiting a few weeks ago and I had to stamp a couple.  The puffy stuff is very very old liquid applique.  I was surprised that it still worked.  I colored him with my Copics.  And this one is technically not a Christmas card but I wanted to include it because I think it is so cute.

The second card is a CASE from someone on Pinterest. I am sorry, I can't remember who it was.  I think I may have made this one before Halloween!  I just loe the colors and the design of it.

I am wondering if you all got your shopping done?  I have most of mine done but need to pull things out and wrap and see where I can fill in a few holes.

Oh!  And if you have not read Richard Paul Evans new book, The Noel Diary you must.  It is a story of forgiveness and I believe it is his story.  It is a very quick read but once you start it you can't put it down.   Treat yourself!!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

MAGIC OF THE SEASON

I guess I better start putting up my Christmas cards.  Boy it is coming fast, right?  Seems like last week I was handing out candy to trick or treaters and now Thanksgiving is over and it is on to Christmas.  This is a new set I bought this year from Sunny Studio.  I really liked it.  No coloring just stamping so quick and fast.

I have almost all of my shopping done.  Now it is time to put my thinking cap on and the hard people are left.

My good friends, Bicka and her husband Tom came last week to visit.  We had a great time together and Lucy loves to see them come.

Well, it is time to decorate a little so

Happy Thanksgiving

Yesterday my Pastor asked if I could make some cards for our shut ins for Thanksgiving.  I told him of course but then my head started to spin with what I could make that would not take too long.  Thanks to a very old Papertrey Ink set and some Nuvo  Drops in Copper Penny I got them all made and set them out today.  Mission accomplished.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Blessed Thanksgiving.  It is my very favorite holiday of the year.

Happy trails to you...

Thanksgiving

I'm finally back.  Been busy here.  And I caught  a cold and have been fighting that.  Finally went to the doctor this morning and she gave me some cough medicine.  Not sleeping is getting old!  She said it is viral Bronchitis.  I have not had that in over 20 years.  I can wait another 20 before getting it again!  LOL  So this card was made using an older Memory Box branch along with some leaves from Impression Obsession.  I popped the fog cardstock up on foam so it stands out from the white base.  I then sprayed it with Glitter Dust from Therm-o-web.  It makes it so sparkly.  I  made two of these and sent them.  One with and one without.  Sure makes a difference!    Looks like a frosty morning with the Glitter Dust.

If anyone reads Joyce Maynard, her newest book is a memoir called The Best of Us.  It is her story about finding love later in life and soon after marrying finds he has pancreatic cancer and their journey through that.  Very well written but terribly sad.  But there were  many laughs as well.

BOO

My friend Peggy bought this tree die from Taylored Expressions (I think).  I had the paper and then found these stickers in my stash.  Lightbulb moment.  I really like the way it turned out.  Once in a while my vision comes out like I imagine!

My friend from MA was here all last week and I didn't get a chance to update this.  Been a long time!  Our weather has been perfect.  Here is a video of one of the fun things we did while she was here at the Henry Doorly Zoo.

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Get Well

I made one more card for NEBUS.  I just got these Gina K stamps in the mail so that is one and  the paper is new from Michaels (love the silver that runs through the grain of the wood.  Also I think but am  not positive that the get well die has never been used.  I have had it in my stash but not sure I have used it before.  I really like how fallish this card turned out.

BELIEVE

This is really really NBUS  I decided to take a class from Alyce of Kit and Clowder.  I want to learn the flicking and feathing techniques.  I purchased this digi from Power Poppy and used never before used Copic markers and went to town.  I have all of the colors of Copics but some have never been used.  Sad I know.  Anyway this little number took me four days to complete and I still need lots of practice but it was fun to "have a go" as Alyce would say.  I will enter this one in to the NBUS challenge

Until next time. happy trails to you.  I hope you come back and visit again soon

A big Halloween BOO!

I am joining the NEBUS challenge this go round and you must use something new.  So I chose this new to me paper pack - I bought it last year and never even opened it up until now.  I also used the new Spooky Trees from Taylored Expressions and some spooky eyes that again I bought who knows when but they were new in the package.  When I saw the eyes in my stash, I knew what I had to do with the trees.  It seems funny to make halloween cards when the temperature is 95 degrees outside.  But it is supposed to cool into the 60's and rain starting tomorrow.  However the rain must not have gotten the message because it rained already today!

Until next time, Happy trails to you!  Thanks for visiting!!

Blended flowers

Did you wonder if I had fallen off the face of the earth?  I have been busy making cards for my church's college students and sending them out.  And I have started my Christmas Cards.  I am in the midst of Christmas around here.  But since it is officially still summer I wanted to showcase this card.  It was so easy to put together. All I did was to die cut the flower with gold card stock and I blended inks on white cardstock and spritzed it with water and I had a finished card!

Has anyone else started their Christmas cards?  When I worked, I always had them completed by the first of August before I went back to work.  I am getting lazy!  LOL

IT'S A BOY!

My neighbors and friends are having a new baby very soon.  His name will be Paxton.  I just got this stamp of a giraffe from Impression Obsession and thought it would make a really cute baby card.  The sentiment is an oldie from Verve.

Until next time, happy trails to you

Hello Gorgeous!

I thought it was time for a fun card.  I picked up this digi several months ago and had to color her up.  Don't ya love her hat?  I put her on an embossed brick wall by Cuttlebug.  Of course I used my Copics to color her up.

I have been missing as we took a trip to Myrtle Beach South Carolina.  We stayed in a wonderful condo right on the beach with a great view.  The sunrises were amazing!  I tried to be walking on the beach to see them but twice I woke up too late and saw it from our deck.  We stopped at Churchill Downs on the way and then went into Charleston one day while we were there.  On the way home we stopped in Asheville NC and rode a steam engine train through the Smokey Mountains and then went to Nashville TN and spent two fun days there and went to the Grand Ole Opry.  Last stop was the top of the Arch in St. Louis.  As many times as I have been by it, I had never been to the top so now I have.  Anyway that has kept me busy lately!

Until next time, happy trails to you

Online Card Class - Rainbow

I am taking the Rainbow card class and this was one of the cards I made for today's lesson.  It was a tough day with lots of computer problems which are all now fixed so I treated myself to an evening in my craft room.  Of course the rainbow is the lesson part of this card.

Vacation

I made this card for a friend as a swap card.  I believe she will have it by now and I am not sure she sees my blog.  But we just got back from a two week vacation at the beach!  I thought this card would be perfect!  We went to Myrtle Beach and spent a week laying in our beach chairs and walking along the beach collecting seashells.  My daughter and her family and I went.  We stopped at Churchill Downs on the way and saw where they have the Kentucky Derby.  Much less crowded and it was fun!  We saw the horses exercise too so a mini mini derby. LOL.  We went to Charleston South Carolina one day and saw the sights there.  I bought a sweet grass basket from a sweet lady named Trudy.  On the way home we stayed a couple of nights in Asheville North Carolina and rode in the a steam engine through the Great Smokey Mountains.  Then onto Nashville for a couple of days.  We finished up in St. Louis and went into the Arch.  I have been to St. Louis many times but never in the Arch.  The kids have been several times.  Now back home and have many memories.

Beachy card

I made this card for a swap awhile back and forgot to post it.  It is an older Gina K stamp set and I watercolored it with my Zig Clean Color Brush markers.  I used fishing line on the starfish and would it tight so that when she opened it it would spin around.

Thanks for stopping by

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Happy Anniversary Michelle and Brian

Today is my daughter and son in love's anniversary!  Eighteen years ago today they were married.  Where do the years go?  I made this card for them and it is all Altenew.  The sentiment is from the Painted Poppy  set, the flowers and leaves from the Dahlia set and the inks are also Altenew's ink.  The only other thing on this card is the Nuvo drops and they are in autumn red.

He Will Cover You With His Feathers

When we were in Des Moines at Inspire Papercrafting I saw this feather die I had to have.  It is a Penny Black die.  Then they had these beautiful papers that just had to come home with me!  I had just gotten the sentiment from Papertrey Ink in the mail before we left so one of the first cards I  made was this one.  I dug out my old Frantage embossing powder and used it on the feathers.  I loved how it came out!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Flower Lanterns and Group Gathering

On Tuesday my stamping group met at http://inspirepapercrafting.com/ in Des Moines IA.  We spent Tuesday, and Wednesday there all day and then Thursday a half day.  We had so much fun and Dawn, the store owner, and her girls were so helpful.  One of the stamps I bought was Penny Black's Flower Lanterns.  I tried to  make a card but didn't like how it turned out and Harriet suggested another way which did work and this is the finished project.  I just smooshed Distress Inks on my stamp and then spritzed and stamped.

Here is a picture of all of us outside of Inspire Papercrafting.  This was the eleventh year for our group meeting.  We have ladies who come from Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and California.  We eat, talk, eat, stamp, eat, laugh, and then eat some more.

Until next time, Happy trails to you

ALTENEW IRIS

I just purchased the new Altenew Enchanted Iris stamp set and sat down and played right away.  I first used their wood pallet background die with weathered wood ink from the distress ink collection.  Then I stamped the iris with Versamark ink on card stock weight vellum and embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Brush markers on the wrong side and used the dies to cut them out.  A couple of grass borders with one popped up with 3M tape and the iris tucked in between the two grasses and a gold embossed sentiment with a couple of sequins and this card is finished.

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card for our former pastor and this is what I came up with.  I had the flowers already made.  I usually make too many when I make a card and then save the left overs.  The gray flowers really stands out and makes it so pretty in my opinion.  These are Altenew flowers and  used Altenew inks as well.  The verse is from Verses Rubber Stamps.

Oh I just finished Lisa Scottolines latest book called One Perfect Lie and it was excellent.  I am not reading Richard Paul Evans newest, The Broken Road.  It too is very good!

POSIES

These flowers are from Altenew and the bow is from a digital stamp set I have.  The wood grain is also from Altenew.  I had a lot of fun coloring them.  Our weather was nice and the tulips and other spring flowers were blooming.  So now two weeks later, we have a freeze warning tonight and today was only in the 40's and real windy.  So cold!  So much for enjoying the lilacs!  I think they said it would be rainy and cold and windy until next Tuesday.

I just finished a great book called One Perfect Lie by Lisa Scottoline.  I thought it started out slow but when it picked up I couldn't put it down!  Great read.

Friday is my last day at Physical Therapy for my knee.  So from the 9th of January to the end of April!  A long haul!  They will give me exercises to continue at home.

Well, I am off to get under my blanket and warm up!  Until next time, Happy Trails to You

Happy Easter part 2

I found this Easter card that I also made this year. I love the springy flowers and the fact that it was a digital stamp so I could resize it anyway I wanted.  Just wanted to pop on here and wish everyone a beautiful Easter

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!  Gosh spring is really springing here in Nebraska.  Love this time of the year.  I made several Easter cards this year but only remembered to photograph three of them.
The ones I made for church are really pretty and of course I forgot to take a picture!  I wish for you all sunny skies and lots of eggs.  But most of all the joy we get knowing Christ rose oh the third day.  What a joyous day it is!

Happy Birthday, Georgia

My friend, Georgia has a birthday today. This is the card and envelope I made for her.  I just got this new stamp set from Penny Black and have used it a LOT in the last couple of weeks since it arrived.  I really like it!  In honor of her birthday, the sun finally is shining!  Good heavens we had three weeks of clouds, dark skies and even some rain (which we needed) but now it is so bright and sunny out as of yesterday!  Everyone is in a better mood!!  Happy spring!!

Until next time, happy trails to you...

SMILE MORE

I bought another Altenew stamp set.  This one is called Smile More.  I just love the flowers in this set.  I blended some inks on the bottom - it is my Laura Fadora coming out!  LOL  I really am liking the reds, oranges and yellows even though it does look a little fallish.  You see these colors in the summer too.

I have been busy between rain drops. It has been cloudy for 2 weeks and the temperatures have been in the 40's and 50's.  I think I want February back.  I was sitting on the deck then! LOL  What strange weather.  Tomorrow is April so hopefully the weather will warm up a bit pretty soon.  And I would love to see the sun for a whole day or two!    But the grass is greening up and the trees all have buds or tiny leaves on them.

Until next time ...  happy trails to you...

ALTENEW

I admit it, I am an Altenew addict!  I can't stop using their layered stamps and the Altenew inks.  They are perfect and take all the guess work out of figuring out what colors to layer with.

We have had some really unusual weather this week and it is only Tuesday!  Yesterday it was 80 degrees! But around 4:00 pm storms rolled in and it poured rain and we had pea sized hail.  I understand that there were several tornadoes in neighboring states and much damage.  It was much cooler after the storms left us.  And now they are talking snow showers on Saturday.  And temperatures in the 40's next week.  Just wonder what the summer will have in store for us this year.  I am finally getting my garage resided after last May's hail storm.

Nothing else is new here  I am busy working on some Easter cards.  Be back soon!

Happy trails to you...

Altenew Butterflies

For the last couple of weeks we have had spring like weather.  I have been sitting on the deck reading my book and enjoying 75 degree weather in February.  I also made this card using Altenew's butterfly stamps and inks.  Well, all that has changed.  We had very chilly temperatures yesterday and rain started around 5:00 last night.  It later turned to sleet and this morning we have about 1 - 2 inches of snow on the ground with a heavy band of snow heading right for us later this morning.  It is very very windy as well so I guess I am done with the deck sitting for awhile. And just when I was getting used to it!
I sure hope your weather is better than ours is!

Until next time, happy trails to you...

Happy Valentines Day

So 2017 is flying by just like the last few years have. Gosh, already February!  I bought this new Circle of Leaves die from Simon Says Stamp and decided to try to put some hearts on it.  I like it for Valentines Day of even anniversary.  Easy card to whip up quickly for sure!

I am still hobbling around but it has been a month now since surgery and I can look back and see how far I have come.  I know I have a long ways to go yet but things are progressing well.  I look forward to the day when I feel confidant enough to go out alone.  So far my girls or my sister have been with me when I go to the store or doctors office.

I am reading Danielle Steel's newest book Magic.  It is good.  I have not been playing in my craft room much because I can't stay awake long enough to create something! LOL.  I miss it and have lots of ideas for when I get back in there.  Right now the table looks like a bomb went off in there!  I have a friend coming to craft on Monday so I must clean it up a bit.

Until next time, happy trails to you...  And a very happy valentines day!

The Great Physician

I guess I could have made this card for me!  LOL  I am home and doing well after my knee replacement.  It feels so good to be home!  Now I am going to rehab 3 times a week.  It is grueling but worth it.  I am getting better every day - baby steps.  At least I have not had to deal with winter weather.  We have not had much snow this winter at all - at least so far.  I would be fine with warmer temperatures and rain. Yes we do need moisture.  Today was 56 degrees outside!

I just read Nicholas Sparks newest book called Two by Two.  It was so very good.  I hate to end a good book.  What are you reading now?

MAYBE WINTER

This year we have not had a winter.  A day here and a day there but we have only had two snows that had to be moved and I used the leaf blower to move it.  They say next week there is a possibility of snow.  So I thought I would post this card.  Now I am not wishing for snow, don't get me wrong.  I prefer 55 degrees and up and warm breezes.  But I know there are snow lovers out there.   I used a Mo Manning digi and colored with Copics.  Love the scarf, don't you?

So have you wondered where I have been?  I had my knee replaced.  So I have been out of commission.  Slowly but surely I am getting better.  I can tell you there are more fun ways to spend January.

How has your winter been??

Until next time, happy trails to you...
