Holly Jolly

The other day Laura Bassen showed a card like this and I loved it!  Her colors are always spot on and of course I didn't have the colors she used but instead I used some of my Distress inks so I could make my version of her card.  I like how it came out.  I started by sponging on my trees and then took it to my Big Shot and cut the Holly Jolly word out of the colored trees.  Saving all the little pieces, I reassembled and then decided to add a few little stars.  You can't see it but I put a touch of Wink of Stella on the stars.  Also, even though it does not look like it, the stars are the same colors as  the trees.  I hope you like it!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

For Jean

A couple of weeks ago I posted one of my fall cards with leaves.  My friend Jean had seen all of the ones I had made and this one was her favorite.  She made me promise to put it on my blog and then I forgot.  So, Jean, better late than never!

We have had absolutely beautiful weather in Nebraska this fall.  The trees are so pretty and the sky is so blue and the temperatures are in the high 60's and low 70's.  I do realize this is all going to come to a crashing stop but for now, we are sure enjoying it!  It was so nice all of last week that Lucy and I walked 81,753 steps and 37.29 miles!  Yup, I have started wearing my FitBit again.  I was using my phone but the FitBit is more accurate.

So we are heading out for a walk now so until next time, happy trails to you!!

Hello!

I am a brand new Card Angel!  I received my first assignment Sunday and this is the card I made for her.  I used Distress inks and a Memory Box stencil called Mesh to make this card.  I inked on the "just wanted to say" and used a die cut for the "hello".  Now I have to write a note and tell her who I am and pop it in the mail.  If you are wondering what a Card Angel is, my friend Bicka told me about them.  They are a group who sends cards to people with cancer.  You can also send a small gift occasionally if you want to.  You apply and then the match you with someone and you become their angel.  I think it is a great program - who doesn't like to get happy mail?

Yesterday my grandson, Justin was here and we cleaned out my garage.  Boy did it need it! We pulled out everything and put it in the driveway and sorted through stuff.   We were able to toss a lot of junk and rearrange things.  Sure looks nice in there now!  We had such a nice day to do it and today is cold and rainy, so I would say we did it just in time!

Since it is such a miserable day, I think I will stay in and stamp and catch up on my  reading.  I hope it gets nice later or at least quits raining so Lucy and I can go on our walk.  We have been doing really well at getting our 10,000 steps in every day!

Until next time, Happy trails to you!!!
