He Will Cover You With His Feathers

When we were in Des Moines at Inspire Papercrafting I saw this feather die I had to have.  It is a Penny Black die.  Then they had these beautiful papers that just had to come home with me!  I had just gotten the sentiment from Papertrey Ink in the mail before we left so one of the first cards I  made was this one.  I dug out my old Frantage embossing powder and used it on the feathers.  I loved how it came out!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Flower Lanterns and Group Gathering

On Tuesday my stamping group met at http://inspirepapercrafting.com/ in Des Moines IA.  We spent Tuesday, and Wednesday there all day and then Thursday a half day.  We had so much fun and Dawn, the store owner, and her girls were so helpful.  One of the stamps I bought was Penny Black's Flower Lanterns.  I tried to  make a card but didn't like how it turned out and Harriet suggested another way which did work and this is the finished project.  I just smooshed Distress Inks on my stamp and then spritzed and stamped.

Here is a picture of all of us outside of Inspire Papercrafting.  This was the eleventh year for our group meeting.  We have ladies who come from Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and California.  We eat, talk, eat, stamp, eat, laugh, and then eat some more.

Until next time, Happy trails to you

ALTENEW IRIS

I just purchased the new Altenew Enchanted Iris stamp set and sat down and played right away.  I first used their wood pallet background die with weathered wood ink from the distress ink collection.  Then I stamped the iris with Versamark ink on card stock weight vellum and embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Brush markers on the wrong side and used the dies to cut them out.  A couple of grass borders with one popped up with 3M tape and the iris tucked in between the two grasses and a gold embossed sentiment with a couple of sequins and this card is finished.

Until next time, happy trails to you!
