Merry Christmas

By the time you read this the day will be about over. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and spending it with those they love. We certainly did. Our weather is wonderful with temperatures in the 40's with no snow or ice to contend with. Two years ago we had a blizzard that shut down the city. No Christmas Eve services, no families visiting relatives, shut down! We were able to make it to our daughter's but it was dicey. I think we spent Christmas Day with a snow shovel in our hands.

I made a card with some Paper Studio gems I got the other day. The cardstock is Archivers own, and the sentiment is from Papertray Ink - one of their $5.00 sets. Pretty simple!

Until next time, happy trails to you

Snow Day

Happy week before Christmas. For our family we get together on Christmas Eve so this time next week it will be all over. We are usually so tired by Christmas Day that we just watch a movie and make a special Christmas dinner. Mom always used to come over and enjoy the day with us but she is gone now. On a happy note, tomorrow (the 18th) is my birthday! Yup, I am all of 34 years old. Ok, I guess I have mentioned that I have grown grandchildren so you probably won't buy that, huh? Well since it is my birthday I can be any age I want to be - for today only. Tomorrow I can go back to being old.

My card today was one of the goodies I won from Beate a couple of weeks ago. It is from Whimsy stamps and a Snickerdoodle Kids stamp called Janice and Marty's Snow Day. Isn't it cute? I colored with Copics and put Smooch on the snowman. The paper is from My Mind's Eye.

I want to take a minute to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and safe travels if you are traveling. Enjoy time with your families and take time to reflect on the reason for the season.

Until next time, Happy trails to you.

Vases of Flowers

Good Sunday afternoon to you. WOW It is almost Christmas! Can you even believe it? I am sure not ready yet. We have one more week of school and then I am off for two whole weeks. I have a lot to get ready in this last week of school. All the gifts I have to give there have to be purchased and wrapped pretty darned quick! And what am I doing? Yup, blogging and reading and coloring and everything I should not be doing. Hehe. Are you all ready for Christmas yet?

The card I made for today is a stamp off from last summer when I was in Des Moines with my group friends. I have no idea whose stamp it was so can't ask what company it is from. I love it though and if I find out, I want to buy this one. I did very little to it other than color with my Copics, used a corner rounder, mounted it on black PTI paper and put a gemstone in each corner. I really think it turned out nice.

Until next time, Happy trails to you....

New window

It is December already! Good gosh it will be Christmas before we know it. I feel like I am running about 3 weeks behind. But it will come and go whether I am ready or not. It was a very busy weekend. We had our first snow and we got about 5 inches. We were cleaning up after that and then had to get a few things for gift giving. Then Justin and Aaron came and spent the night. What fun little people they both are. They are always as good as gold so it is no problem however I had planned to wrap presents. Oh well, they will get wrapped ( I hope!) I need a fairy Godmother!

I received a new image from Mo Manning last week called Snow Day and could not wait to ink it up. I also received a couple of new dies to die for! They are from Impressrubberstamps.com. I got the large window and the snowflake border. I love them! I added some stickers for the snowflakes. Of course I colored her with my Copics and then used some liquid applique to puff up the furry parts.

Sorry for the picture. I wanted to take it outside in the fir tree but it is covered with snow so I had to settle for an inside snowman.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and you are way ahead with your Christmas preparations.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...
