Merry Christmas

By the time you read this the day will be about over. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and spending it with those they love. We certainly did. Our weather is wonderful with temperatures in the 40's with no snow or ice to contend with. Two years ago we had a blizzard that shut down the city. No Christmas Eve services, no families visiting relatives, shut down! We were able to make it to our daughter's but it was dicey. I think we spent Christmas Day with a snow shovel in our hands.

I made a card with some Paper Studio gems I got the other day. The cardstock is Archivers own, and the sentiment is from Papertray Ink - one of their $5.00 sets. Pretty simple!

Until next time, happy trails to you

Snow Day

Happy week before Christmas. For our family we get together on Christmas Eve so this time next week it will be all over. We are usually so tired by Christmas Day that we just watch a movie and make a special Christmas dinner. Mom always used to come over and enjoy the day with us but she is gone now. On a happy note, tomorrow (the 18th) is my birthday! Yup, I am all of 34 years old. Ok, I guess I have mentioned that I have grown grandchildren so you probably won't buy that, huh? Well since it is my birthday I can be any age I want to be - for today only. Tomorrow I can go back to being old.

My card today was one of the goodies I won from Beate a couple of weeks ago. It is from Whimsy stamps and a Snickerdoodle Kids stamp called Janice and Marty's Snow Day. Isn't it cute? I colored with Copics and put Smooch on the snowman. The paper is from My Mind's Eye.

I want to take a minute to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and safe travels if you are traveling. Enjoy time with your families and take time to reflect on the reason for the season.

Until next time, Happy trails to you.

Vases of Flowers

Good Sunday afternoon to you. WOW It is almost Christmas! Can you even believe it? I am sure not ready yet. We have one more week of school and then I am off for two whole weeks. I have a lot to get ready in this last week of school. All the gifts I have to give there have to be purchased and wrapped pretty darned quick! And what am I doing? Yup, blogging and reading and coloring and everything I should not be doing. Hehe. Are you all ready for Christmas yet?

The card I made for today is a stamp off from last summer when I was in Des Moines with my group friends. I have no idea whose stamp it was so can't ask what company it is from. I love it though and if I find out, I want to buy this one. I did very little to it other than color with my Copics, used a corner rounder, mounted it on black PTI paper and put a gemstone in each corner. I really think it turned out nice.

Until next time, Happy trails to you....

New window

It is December already! Good gosh it will be Christmas before we know it. I feel like I am running about 3 weeks behind. But it will come and go whether I am ready or not. It was a very busy weekend. We had our first snow and we got about 5 inches. We were cleaning up after that and then had to get a few things for gift giving. Then Justin and Aaron came and spent the night. What fun little people they both are. They are always as good as gold so it is no problem however I had planned to wrap presents. Oh well, they will get wrapped ( I hope!) I need a fairy Godmother!

I received a new image from Mo Manning last week called Snow Day and could not wait to ink it up. I also received a couple of new dies to die for! They are from Impressrubberstamps.com. I got the large window and the snowflake border. I love them! I added some stickers for the snowflakes. Of course I colored her with my Copics and then used some liquid applique to puff up the furry parts.

Sorry for the picture. I wanted to take it outside in the fir tree but it is covered with snow so I had to settle for an inside snowman.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and you are way ahead with your Christmas preparations.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Congratulations!

A dear friend of ours son will graduate college in December so I made a card for him. I used PTI stamps, and Memento ink. This came together so quickly and was a snap to make. I stamped the hat twice, once in the blue and then again in black. I cut it out and glued it over the blue hat. I also found some dimensional star stickers in my stash so I put them over the blue stars. I added a couple of score lines and then used my Cuttlebug stars folder at the bottom.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We certainly did. Of course we ate way too much but it was 73 degrees outside so we went out and worked in the yard to work some of it off. I think the record warm temperature was 65 so we blew it away. Now it is on to Christmas shopping and decorating.

Until next time, Happy trails to you!

Santa

I found this on Dawns Stamping Thoughts and just had to try it out. I like the double gatefold card. I know what I will do differently next time so am anxious to try it out again. The paper is from PaperTrey Ink and the image is from Stamping Bella. Of course I colored with Copics and cut with Nesties.

It has gotten cold the last couple of days. In the 30's both days. Down from the 50's on Friday however Thanksgiving is supposed to be almost 60 so I am hopeful! I have a nasty cold. No voice at all - well a squeak now and then.

My husband and I would like to with everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy time with family and dear friends.

Until next time, Happy trails to you.....

Believe

My daughter grew up with a girl and they were best friends for years. They ended up moving to Arizona when she was about 16 or 17. The girls have stayed in touch all of these years and we just found out that her daughter who is just 15 years old has stage 4 cancer of the bone and lung. The prognosis is grim but we know that prayer changes things and that God has her in His hands. I would like to ask you to pray for Katie. She is way to young to be so sick.

My card was made from a set from Verve called Believe. I saw this before I bought the set but don't remember where. I stamped the flowers on PTI white cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. I just rubbed ink over it when I was finished. Very very simple.

We had a full weekend. Today was yard work but first went to brunch with our daughter, son in law and grandsons. The boys came home with us and helped us in the yard. We really enjoy having them. They are such goofs and they keep us laughing all of the time.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Get well

I have a friend who is having her hip replaced on Tuesday. I know she won't see this so I can post it now. This cute little guy is from Crafty Secrets and colored with my Copics, speaking of which LOOK WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY! I am so excited to get my new Copic bag. Love it! So much easier to carry around that what I had. Anyway back to the card. I cut it out with my Nestibilities and mounted it on Bazzill cardstock. Added some flowers and bling from the wedding department at Hobby Lobby and presto it is done! Quick and cute I think. What do you think?

We had our first snow this past week. Big huge white flakes mixed with rain. It even stuck on the grass for a couple of hours and the streets were slushy. Of course the next day was in the 50's. Supposed to happen again this week. I am not so sure I am ready for the cold and snow and ice and slop of the winter.

A huge shout out to my friend Eulanda for changing my blog. I love it! Thanks so much!!

Until next time... Happy trails to you...

Shirley Goodness and Mercy

Ever read Debbie Macomber's book Shirley Goodness and Mercy? Such a good book and these three little angels remind me of them. Let's see, I started with Papertrey Ink cardstock for the base and over that I added some Creative Imaginations Christmas paper. It is double sided so the other side is the strip and bow down the side. The bow is a die cut from Papertrey Ink, as is the button. Well, I mean the real button is from Papertrey Ink, not that it is a die cut. The bow is raised up on Pop Dots. The angels are from Lili of the Valley stamps and colored with Copics. I paper pieced their dresses with scraps and used a Nestie to cut it out. I sponged around the outside with Hero Arts shadow ink in the color Stone. I really like how it turned out. I hope you do too.

Our temperatures are very warm. The kids sure didn't need coats for Halloween tonight. It is almost 9:00 p.m. and still in the 60's. It is supposed to be warm again tomorrow and then only in the 40's with rain for Wed. Yuck. I know winter is coming but sure don't want it to. If I had my way, we would fast forward to spring. Maybe the bears have the right idea. Hibernation is not such a bad thing!

Until next time...

Happy trails to you

Get Well

It has been quite a week! I am slowly getting my computer back up and running. I guess I don't have to clean out all of the junk - it did it for me :) I guess that is the bright side, yes? I am trying to get my address book back. That is the hardest part. I have friends and even some relatives who I have lost their emails and their addresses. I hope they send me an email. If you think I need your email or snail mail address, please get in touch with me. On another note, I had parent teacher conferences this week at school so I worked late on Wed. and Thurs. and got Friday off. The weather was absolutely gorgeous on Friday. Lucy and I took two long walks. And speaking of Lucy, she is three years old today! She had a special dinner and got to go for a long ride. It drizzled all day today so no walks for us. We went to a neighboring town and bought a John Deere riding lawn mower and snow blower attachment for it. Bill is unable to use the walk behind and can't shovel and was feeling useless so we thought this may help. He is tickled pink!

Yadayadayada... I am rambling and you came to see a card. Sorry. My card was made for a friend who had surgery Friday. He is my computer guy and got me all set up after the crash. It was such a simple card to make. My friends Joanne and Lynette both have made this type of card lately and I needed to try it. The sun stamp is from a BoBunny set called Barefoot & Bliss. The cattails are Penny Black. The sentiment is from a Verve set titled Wishing You. I used Momento ink, Tuxedo Black and Tangelo. The paper is Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie. The white cardstock is Papertrey Ink. Oh and I could not resist putting a little sparkle on the cattails with a clear Spica pen.

I will be anxious to hear what you think...

Until next time... Happy trails to you....

What A Week!

Good morning! What a week this has been. I was checking emails when all of a sudden the little ball just kept rolling and rolling. It happens occasionally so I didn't think much of it but did a force quit. When I restarted it, all I got were question marks. Not a good sign :( I took it to the Apple Store and found that my hard drive had crashed. I have had Macs forever and never had had a problem and my computer is not even two years old. Well, I have learned my lesson - the hard way. Why do humans always have to learn the hard way? Anyway I had to buy a new hard drive and I got a new cord so I can back up with my external hard drive that I had but needed a new cord to work with this computer. I lost everything I had. So no pictures, no files, nothing. I am starting from scratch. So I uploaded one lonely card that I made and I will use it today.

On the brighter side, we went to the Omaha Community Playhouse last night to see Chicago. I actually liked it better than the movie and I loved the movie! We had a great time. Our Playhouse was founded by Henry Fonda and they do a wonderful job there. We have others around but this one is just outstanding. They have traveling caravans for A Christmas Carol and they tour all over the country.

So now on to my card. It is a Lili of the Valley image called A Christmas Dance that my friend Eulanda sent to me. I colored her with my Copic markers using the colors Bev Rochester used on hers. I then punched 2 snowflakes out and ran them through my Xyron and then glittered them up and put them one on top of another, popped a button on top and put it on my card. The paper is from my stash and I think it is from Bo Bunny. I also punched a strip of red to go down the center. Oh and I glittered the fur she is wearing too.

Until next time... Happy Trails to you

Pumpkins

A little early but I really liked the way this card turned out. It is a Northwoods stamp that I colored with my Copics and then glittered and glittered some more. Really I just followed the coloring on the stamp so it was a no brainer. I made this card last week. We had our grandsons all last weekend as their parents were in New York City seeing the sights and seeing plays. The boys were absolutely perfect but there was no stamping time to be had.

It doesn't feel like Halloween here. It has been really warm and in fact it is 80 again today. It was very close to 90 a couple of days last week. But we have a few weeks before the "big" day :) I love not having to run the furnace or air conditioner.

I am reading a Kristin Hannah book called True Colors. I am enjoying it.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Hey Buddy

Today I have 2 similar cards up. The Hey Buddy was made for a friend's grandson and the Happy Birthday was made for my grandson, Aaron. The airplane is from a PaperTreyInk set as is the banner and words. The clouds are a PTI die. The sun is a sticker I had in my stash. The little boy on Aaron's card is from a long retired SU set. This is a fun set to use and play with.

I don't know about your corner of the world, but we have had the most beautiful weather here in Omaha the last few weeks. It just doesn't get any better. Nice warm days and cool nights. Wonderful walking weather for Lucy and me. I even enjoy mowing the lawn. Anything to be outside.

Until next time...happy trails to you!

Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Happy Saturday! We are enjoying wonderful weather here. Warm days and chilly nights. Just perfect fall weather. Great walking weather too. I love going for a walk and not sweating.

Last summer my friends Georgia and Nancy and I made a trip to Lincoln NE about 50 miles away to visit a Ben Franklin stamp store. We discovered Rosie Roadshow stamps and we were hooked. These are small stamps but oh so cute with wonderful sayings. I think you will be seeing lots of them here. Several followed me home. Can't you just hear Tiny Tim singing this and strumming his ukulele? Takes you back a few decades, yes? Did anyone ever wonder how he ever got to be on tv? hehe Anyway I digress, this was colored with my Copics and I used papers from my stash. The 3D tulip stickers are from K and Company. This was a fun card to make.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Little Spooks

First off Thank you Eulanda for changing my blog. I love this one. So appropriate for this time of year.

My card this time was made from an image I got from my friend Nancy. Thanks Nancy! It is a Northwoods stamp and I colored it with my Copic markers and glittered it up. It won't be long before we hear them coming to our door looking for their candy.

It turned very fallish here this last week. Today is supposed to be a throwback to summer with a high of 80 but then it is back to fall. The weekend was cloudy and drizzly and in the low 60's which is perfect weather for me. Some of the leaves are starting to turn so fall can't be too far away.

Oh, another book that I have recently read is Hattie's Big Sky. It is a young adult book and excellent - about a young girl who goes from Iowa to homestead in Montana. Actually my grandmother did this same thing. She went alone from Nebraska to Montana and homesteaded there so this made me more aware of what she went through. I was only about 10 when she died and really wish I could have known her longer to hear her stories.

Until next time - happy trails to you....

Flowers For You

I got this little girl from a friend in Des Moines when we went this summer. Isn't she adorable? I colored her with my Copic markers and then glittered up her bows and used Crystal Effects on her boots. The butterfly is a sticker from K and Co as well as the flowers behind the fence. The fence is a die cut I also got in Des Moines from a friend. I love the size of this fence. I believe it may be from Taylored Expressions.

Happy Labor Day to my US friends. It has turned wonderful here. Highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's. Right now at 8:30 A.M. it is 54 degrees outside and I am even a bit chilly! I am sure it will turn hot again but no more 100 degree days I hope.

We plan to have a lazy day here at home. We were busy Saturday and Sunday so it will be nice to stay at home and read or just do whatever we want to do. I hope you enjoy your day as well.

Until next time, Happy Trails to you!

Count Your Blessings

Oh my gosh, has it really been two whole weeks since I have posted? School is busier that ever before and I come home exhausted. I have been reading a lot or should I say picking up the book and falling asleep! I did manage to finish Debbie Macomber's newest book, A Turn In The Road which was one of her best. I really enjoyed it. Just what I needed right now, a great light story.

Today we will celebrate Justin's 11th birthday. It seems like yesterday that this little guy and our fourth grandchild was born. Where or where do the years go? Justin, if you see this, stop growing up so fast!

Today's card is made from a Gina K set called Spring Basket. I colored it with my Copics and cut it out with Nestibilities. The ribbon I have had for years and I think it was purchased at Hobby Lobby. I was very happy with the result.

Until next time, Happy trails to you....

Thank You

Happy Saturday Peeps! What a week it has been. Well two weeks actually. I went back to work on August 1. We had some major remodeling done "over the summer" and when I walked in the door there were workmen everywhere and nothing was completed. I could not begin to get to my desk so I worked in the library the first week. This week was better in that I could get to my desk and I cleaned and cleaned only to come back every morning to another mess and lots and lots of dust. Then there were the parents who waited all summer to enroll their kids into school. Lots and lots of parents. I have been working late nights and lots of overtime trying to get ready. I am so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. But now this Monday school begins so it should be much better soon. It is a good thing I made some cards ahead to showcase because I have not so much as looked at a stamp for over a week. This weeks card is made from the Papertrey Ink's anniversary set. The dp I used was in my stash. A super simple card. I hope you like it and will stop back next time.

Until next time... happy trails to you!

Treasured Friend

I have a good friend who has a birthday coming up. I don't think she reads my blog but just in case, I won't mention her name since she has not received this yet. I actually made two of these but sealed one before I could take a picture. This is a GinaK Designs set of stamps and I am having so much fun with them. Of course I have had them for a year and just now inking them up. I colored them with my Copic markers and the paper is PaperTrey Ink. I used my Cuttlebug and I think the embossing folder is called Spots or Bubbles. I used a friend's folder so not sure. Thanks Georgia!

Well, my summer is over as of tomorrow. I head back to work on Monday morning. Where did the summer go? And how will I ever have time to fit 8 hours of work into my day? I know I think that every year but time just seems to fly. If you have more summer left, enjoy each and every moment. Before long winter will be upon us.

Until next time... Happy trails to you....

We are so sorry ...

I didn't have any sympathy cards in my stash and thought I should make a few. Well, I have made one! I don't know why I was thinking of sympathy cards other than the fact that I only have one more week of vacation before heading back to work for another school year. Kids start August 15 and I start August 1. Boy where did the summer go? Oh I know it is still in full swing but it is going to have to carry on without me. Boo hoo.

We got the deck sealed last weekend and boy was it hot. This weekend isn't going to be much better if any so I guess it was wise that we didn't postpone it. We would like to put one more coat on the floor. That should not take any time at all though. We just have to find a day where rain is not predicted for a couple of days.

Ok, now for the card. The designer paper is from Ancestry.com and is bronzed paper green decortative. Isn't it pretty? The image is from Penny Black and I used a stamp from my friend Vicki when we were in Des Moines earlier this summer. I have since ordered the stamp. I really love it. I colored the butterflies with my Copic markers and then Stickled them. The topaz rhinestones are Martha Stewart and the other small gold stones were from my stash. I cut it out with my Nesties and chalked the edges. I don't think that shows up too well.

Until next time... Happy trails to you

Summertime

Good morning Peeps! It is going to be fairly decent today but then sizzling from Friday on. Guess what we are doing Saturday? Yup, seal coating the deck. We power washed it last weekend in preparation but could we have picked a better weekend? I think there will be 4 of us so it should not take too long I hope.

For my card today I got my inspiration from Kitty Kraft's blog I am always blown away with her cards. I also used a much neglected Sarah Kay image and colored her with my Copic markers. I cut her out with my oval nestabilities and the oval scallop underneath it. I also paper pierced the scalloped one. I used a Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes for the white piece she is mounted on but the corner is my favorite, thanks Kitty. I just used a Martha Stewart punch to get this affect. I have to say this was not the punch I wanted to use but the M.S. punch I wanted to use would not punch! It is in the freezer as I heard this sometimes works. I tried to sharpen it but that didn't help. Besides not stamping, it would not release the paper. Anyone have these problems with your punches?

Well that is about it for this time. So until next time, happy trails to you...

Nothing But Blue Skies

Good Morning Peeps! It is going to be a scorcher here in Nebraska all weekend so thought I had better get up early and move! I mowed the grass early and trimmed some bushes and now after my shower feel a whole lot better. I wish someone would invent something you could put on your grass to make it stop growing. It gets to the length you want it to stay and then you put something on it and it just stays that length. Anyone up for an invention? hehe

OK today I have a card that I made for a friend who was going through a rough time. I hope things are better for her now. The image is from Flourishes and they stamp so nicely. I will be buying more from them for sure! I colored it with my Copic markers. I cut it out with my Nestabilities and then mounted it on paper from my stash. Also the ribbon is of unknown origin. Pretty sure I got it at a local craft store.

Wherever you are try to stay cool. Summer will be over before we know it. Enjoy every moment of it.

Until next time, Happy trails to you....

Tilda wants to say Happy Birthday!

I can honestly say I was not happy with the card I posted the last time. It did look better in person but I could not get a good picture. Even in person it was not my favorite card. You know how you have something in your head and it just doesn't quite come out that way and nothing you do can make it right? Well, that was that card. So what is a girl to do but make another one today! I used a summery Tilda and decked her out for the holiday. She even has a matching floatie. I colored her with my Copics and then paper pierced the edges. I used October Afternoon papers and punched the red one with my Fiskers punch. The star was made at least a year ago by me and I never used it. It has been sitting on my table that long and I would go past it and think I need to use it. Finally! I am glad I waited - I like it on this card. The celebrate was a Papertrey Ink die and the sentiment is from Little Lady from Papertrey Ink.

I hope you all had a wonderful day today and continue to enjoy your summer. All too soon we will be up to our knees in snow again.

God Bless the USA!!

Until next time....Happy trails to you

Happy Birthday America!

The Fourth of July already? Where is the summer going? It has been very hot here but that means more craft time because you certainly can't stay outside too long. I made this card for the 4th but my camera just could not get a good picture. It is very sparkly in real life. The fireworks are gold and red, the girl and her dress are silver.

We are going to a neighborhood cookout on the 4th. Do you have plans? I would love to know what everyone is doing.

Until next time...happy trails to you

Happy Birthday Bill

Good morning to you all. My husband had a birthday on the 21 of June and this is the card that I made for him. Happy Birthday, Honey! It is from Gina K and is called Quite a Catch. Isn't it funny? Love her lips :) The paper is from Gina K as well. Of course I used my Copics to color her.

Our week here was cooler than normal and today is rainy. Our grandson came on Thursday evening and is leaving today. We were so busy. Aaron is 6 and full of energy. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful and we went to the puppy park for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Aaron did more running than the puppies. I don't think there was one dog that he didn't play with. He had so much fun! When we got home I had a tired little boy as well as a tired puppy on my hands. Such a nice problem to have, yes? We still had to eat dinner and go for our walk. Oh and the most important thing, eat ice cream

Miss You

Good morning! Another Saturday rolls around and our day will be busy. Have to go to buy birdseed for our birds. We enjoy watching them outside our kitchen window. Believe it or not, that is one reason I have not pushed for a craft room. I love to be in the kitchen and watching the birds when I craft.

Today's card was made for a friend that I am not seeing near as much as I used to. I used the Papertrey Ink anniversary set to make this card. The inks were all Memento inks. I really like the watercolor look to this card. Of all of the anniversary sets that PTI has put out I love this one the best. The butterfly is also from Papertrey and I colored it with my Copics.

Last week I mentioned that I was going to Des Moines IA for our annual stamping get together. Well unfortunately it is over for another year but oh the memories. We had so much fun and laughed and giggled until our sides hurt. Some of the ladies had new techniques to show us, some brought lots of food, some shared new things and everyone contributed. There was considerable lack of sleep but so worth it. Several of us were in the breakfast room at the motel when a lady came up to us and asked if we were rubber stampers. She was from Colorado Springs, CO and was also a stamper. She brought in a box of her cards and we each got to pick out a card she had made. Hi Dee! What a nice lady! Her poor husband said she has so much stuff he barely has room for his Cheerios anymore. Sound familiar? Another man walked into the breakfast room in the evening when we were making some cards and asked if we were Creative Memories ladies. We weren't but the fact that he knew that amazed me.

That's all for today. I want to wish a very happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there. And a very special Father's Day to my wonderful hubby who lets me do so many crazy things and is usually right there in the thick of things with me.

Until next time... Happy trails to you!

Anniversary

I had to make an anniversary card a while back and chose to use some pretty stickers from KandCo. I think they are so very pretty and the card just makes itself. I added a Nestie frame around it and then chalked a bit. Easy peasy.

Today was my last day at work for eight whole weeks! I left or rather danced out of school at 10:25 this morning. I love my summers off and the chance to relax and then get ready for the next school year.

I just finished a great book. Does anyone read Belva Plain? Her last book called Heartwood is out and is excellent. Ms. Plain died at 94 years old. It is unfortunate that she didn't start to write novels until she was in her late 50's but in the years she did write, she manage to write many many wonderful stories.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer and lots of fun plans. Please share them here if you have some fun things coming up this summer. I am going to Iowa to meet up with my stamping group. We meet every summer and have gals come from California, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and sometimes Illinois. We laugh and stamp and eat for 2 days. It is always a highlight of my year. See you soon ladies!!

Until next time, Happy trails to you....

Birthday Hats

My friend Georgia is the sticker queen. I may have mentioned that before - several times but she does the most amazing things with stickers. I had to try something simple to get my feet wet. I chose these three dimensional stickers I had. I should know who made these but I can't find the packaging. I will continue to look. I used my birthday Cuttlebug folder for the background and layered it with some pink paper. This was a five minute card!

School is out for the kids! Yesterday was the last day. It was just crazy around there. But now teachers come back Monday and Tuesday and then I work the rest of the week and a little while the following Tuesday and then I am out for eight wonderful weeks. This is the time we have all looked for since last August! I do have to say I enjoy the school year as well. It is fun to work with kids all day. Keeps me on my toes for sure!

Until next time... Happy trails to you

Another Birthday Card

I needed to add to my supply of birthday cards. They are pretty much gone. I ran across this stamp set that I have had for ages and never used - anyone else do that? Nope? just me? lol. Anyway it is from Crafty Secrets and called Bird Lovers. I made it so very simple. Just stamped it and colored a bit with my Copics. Used a Nestie to cut it out, used some distress ink around the edges and scored it with my ScorBuddy. Doesn't get any easier.

Work right now is just crazy. The end of the school year is always nuts. Friday is the kids last day for the 10-11 school year.

Until next time, Happy Trails to you...

Happy Birthday Joanne and Marcia!

Good Evening Friends. I was going to post on Mother's Day but I ended up being sick all day. Today I am feeling a bit better so wanted to get this on here before it is too late. My cousin, Joanne has a birthday today. I learned to ride a bike on her farm and this bike reminds me of the bike I learned on. Of course Joanne is not nearly as old as this lady but she has just as much fun as this one looks like she is having. Joanne, if that old bike is still around, get it out and take a spin today! Hope your day was as special as you.

May is a birthday month. Tomorrow is my sister's birthday and she is getting a card I had on my blog a while back with the lady and the walker. I know she will get a kick out of it. She doesn't read my blog so the secret is safe unless she already has received it. Happy Birthday to you Marcia.

This image is a digi and colored with my Copics.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

All Things Grow With Love

Whew! What a weekend we had. On Saturday we took Lucy to Bark in the Park which is an annual fundraiser for the dog parks. There were many many vendors there and a good time was had by all. We had company after that and then we went to do our normal Saturday morning chores. Saturday night we discovered that our freezer was on its last leg. Of course this was the Berkshire meetings here in Omaha and we had already decided we would not need anything so we chose not to get credentials. Dumb move. So now we are at Nebraska Furniture Mart with thousands of others trying to buy a freezer without credentials! We were fortunate that they gave us the discount anyway. So that took forever! We came home, cleaned out the utility room to get ready for the delivery today. After we did that, we mowed the yard and then I went with my friend Pat, to get flowers for the front yard. Came back home and cooked dinner and then Lucy and I went for a long walk. End of weekend! I took today off of work to get a few things done, that has changed to getting the freezer and planting flowers. Oh, and scrubbing the kitchen floor. Doesn't it sound like fun?

Now here is what you came to see. The card. This is a digi image called Sprout. Isn't she cute? I colored her with my Copics. This is a twisted easel card - so easy to make! The paper is new but I used the last of it here and can't remember the name. The flowers are stickers from my stash. I am so happy with how she turned out. What do you think?

Until next time...

Happy trails to you

Spring Jar

Can you stand one more jar card? Another Papertrey Ink image with flowers in the jar. I loved the bright colors of this one. Papers were from my stash - newer but already cut so don't remember whose they are. I put a button for the center of each of my flowers.

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter, Passover or whatever you celebrate. I hope you are having some nice weather where you are. Sure wish we could say we are but today is very windy and the wind chills make the temperature feel like 32 degrees. Of course we still have the high winds. I am beginning to wonder if spring will ever get to Nebraska...

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Bunny in the Jar

Good morning! Don't you just love lazy Saturday mornings? Remember last week I said spring had finally arrived? Well as quickly as it came it has left. We had pouring rain for two days with lots of wind. Finally today the rain has stopped but it is still very cloudy and very very windy. It is only 34 degrees with a wind chill of 18 degrees. I guess the bright side is that we are not shoveling snow!

So back to my "in the jar" cards. It is fun deciding what goes into the jar next! Today I put a bunny in the jar. The background paper as well as the pink and brown polka dot paper is from The Girls' Paperie and is from the vintage whimsy collection. It is a double sided paper which I think takes all the guess work out of making a card! I colored with Copics. The flower strip along the bottom is from Doodlebug and is part of a package of paper frills. The yellow candy dots are from Pebbles.

I made this for my friend Connie. She has received it and asked that I put it on my blog so hi Connie! Just for you :)

Until next time, happy trails to you ....

Easter Chick

I am having so much fun with the Friendship Jar and Spring Additions from Papertrey Ink. This is just one of many of the cards I have made with it. I used Girls Paperie paper - isn't it just one of the prettiest papers you have ever seen? I got it at Archivers. I put a doily on top of that and then my jar. Of course I used my Copics to color and popped the chick up with pop dots. I didn't have any ribbon the right color so I used white ribbon and colored it with my Copics.

It has finally turned to spring here and we are loving the warm sun on our faces. Leaves are popping out all over and our little Lucy is happily playing at the puppy park once again. It is fun to see all of the new puppies coming for the first time. Seems just a little while ago that it was us and Lucy was so afraid to get off of my lap. Now she acts as if she owns the place!

Until next time... Happy Trails to you...

Easter Bunny

First off when you finish here head over to http://jacquesmagnolias.blogspot.com/2011/04/sweet-stuff-and-beautiful-tilda-at-just.html and see the great give away she has going on!

Now for my card. I was at my friend, Georgia's house last week and we got a lot done. She had this stamp and it was really calling my name. I forgot to look to see who makes this stamp but I am pretty sure she said she has had it for a very long time so it may be discontinued by now. I colored with my Copics of course and then found these papers in my stash. Now why did I buy those papers in the first place? I can't imagine what I was thinking but they sure are perfect for this bunny and his carrot. I popped the image up on pop dots and used my Spica glitter pen for a little sparkle. I didn't add any embelishments as I thought this wild paper was enough. Oh, and of course I used my Nesties for the cutting.

I believe spring is really trying to get here now. We have had blue skies 2 days in a row and temperatures in the 60's. Now speaking of temps, I have a friend in Alaska, hi Elizabeth! and she wrote to me that it was 11 below zero and they could finally go outside with just a light sweater on. I asked her if I had read that right and she said yes, it feels very warm after the 60 below zero temperatures they have in the winter. So I guess it is all in what you get used to. Don't think I want to get used to that!

Until next time, happy trails to you...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Well, our spring break is officially over. It is back to work tomorrow but there is a light at then end of the tunnel. It is still very chilly here but by next weekend it is supposed to be over 70 degrees. I sure hope they are right!

The card I made today is a new Gina K design. Aren't those flowers pretty ones? I colored everything with my Copic markers. The base white paper is Papertrey Ink and the lavender paper is Bazzill. I used a Nestibility to cut the frame and then cut out the flowers and glued them onto the frame. The ribbon is from some I have had laying around for years that I used for Christmas gifts. I love the way it allows you to do anything with it. It is very easy to work with.

If you are a reader, I am just finishing up an excellent book called Choosing to See by Mary Beth Chapman. She is the wife of a Christian singer songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman.

Until next time, Happy trails to you and I hope spring finds you if it hasn't already.

Birthday Girl

Well, spring still has not arrived but we haven't had the snow. However they say we will get some tonight. I am ignoring it and hoping spring returns very soon. Yesterday I got to go to my friends house to play. Hi Georgia! We had such a productive day and got a lot done. I had colored this little girl up before I went and finished her up yesterday. I put her on a pretty doily and then Georgia suggested the bling around the doily. Super idea! The paper is from The Girls Paperia and is called Gingham Stripe. Doesn't it just remind you of clothes or wallpaper from the past? I love it! I put some Crystal Effects on her balloon to make it shine.

Until next time, Happy Trails to You!

Winter Wonderland

Ok, this is the very very last winter card for months! It is very nice here today - but towards the end of the week they are talking about a possible rain snow mix so we are not into spring just yet. But each nice day is one day closer, right?

My card today is really pretty simple. I used a Cuttlebug folder for the snowflakes and then went over it lightly with ink. I finished that off with a Spica clear pen. The snowpeople are part of a very old stamp from Hero Arts. I colored them with my Copic pens. The snow drifts are just torn paper with Stickles on the tops. Easy peasy.

I am on spring break this week so hope to get a lot of stamping time in. YEAH!! I hope spring has arrived in your neck of the woods and hope our weatherman is way wrong.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Lavendar's Blue Dilly Dally

Anyone remember that song? When I see this card that is what comes to my mind. My yahoo group was challenged to make a blue and lavender card. I used this Hangler image and colored her with my Copics. Then I added the puppy which was a sticker. I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss the lavender Stampin Up! paper I used.

Before I forget again, I need to say thank you to Eulanda for the cute blog header. I can always trust her to make it really cool. I am not an owl fan at all and when she told me she had done it in owls I almost groaned and then I saw it. I am now a new fan of owls. Aren't the cute? Love the springy colors!! Thanks so much!!

This week has been up and down with the temperatures. There were two nice days when we could go to the dog park but then the other days were very very cold. Now they are talking about a possible winter storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. I am so done with winter that I don't even want to listen to it. I am working late on Wednesday and Thursday for Parent Teacher Conferences and then I am off on Friday. I was hoping for beautiful weather on Friday. I am still hoping.

I have a cute story to share from one of our little kindergartners at school. He said he got to be in a wedding this weekend. He said he got to be the "reindeer" and carry the rings. Isn't that adorable? I wonder what he had pictured in his little head.

Until next time... Happy trails to you ...

Flossie Bumblethrope

Happy Saturday! Boy it was an extremely long week for me. But the weather for the last few days has been wonderful! Thursday was 68 degrees - in February!! But it is back to winter next week. Rain and storms tomorrow - ish. Oh well, no snow in the forecast so it is all good.

Today's card was made from a digi image from Just Inklined. I just could not resist her! Of course she was colored with my copics. The red paper was a piece of left over from another project and the purple paper is from Lasting Impressions. I used some Twinklettes from Taylored Expressions on her glasses to give them some bling. I think I had glasses like that years ago!! Flossie is enjoying the nice weather as well. She is going for a walk. I thought of my Mom when I made this card. She was 92 years old and her doctor wanted her to use her walker. She refused saying "it makes me look old" Well her doctor had a fun sense of humor so he suggested that she put a sign on her walker saying "My pediatrician made me use this". It didn't work but I thought it was great fun.

On another note, last Saturday night my husband got tickets to a hockey game. He had never been to one and asked our son in law and grandson's to go with him. My daughter and I decided to go out to dinner. We were sitting in a popular steak house when we looked up and saw Warren Buffett at the next table over. That was exciting! Even when you go to the shareholders meetings you don't get that close!

Enjoy your week and until next time...

Happy Trails to you....

PS. My friend Vicki awarded me the Liebster award. It is supposed to bring people to you blog and is awarded to blogs who are smaller. I have no one to send it on to at the moment but I want to thank Vicki so much for thinking of me.

Happy Valentines Day Justin and Aaron

I made Valentines alike for our grandsons. The only difference is that one is a long card and one is a wide card. I used PaperTrey Ink cardstock, SU heart cups, stickers from my stash and then filled the cups with M&M's. I mailed them together in the same place at the same time and wouldn't you know it, Aaron got his and Justin didn't. I should have hand delivered them! Hopefully by tomorrow Justin will have his. Surely the mailman knows how important it is to deliver them both at the same time. Jeeze!!

Until next time... Happy trails to you

EDITED TO ADD: Justin received his Valentine and is a happy camper. Whew! Score one for Grandma :)

Paper Trey Ink Anniversary Contest

It is Paper Trey Ink's Fourth anniversary and they are celebrating by having a customer contest. Customers are to show their favorite card they made in 2010 using Paper Trey Ink's products. This is a card I posted last spring and am showing again. I used Floral Frenzy to make this card for a friend who was retiring. I hope you like it!

Another Valentine

What is a girl to do when it is snowing and blowing and you can't get out except to shovel and then shovel again. I made a few new Valentines! This one was made before but thought I would post it now. It is a Hangler image and I used my Copics to color her. The hearts are ones that I bought last year and put away for safe keeping. When February came last year I went to get them. They had just disappeared! I looked everywhere at least three times. Well, guess what I found this year? Yup, right on top in a drawer that I just knew I had looked in. Does anyone else do this? I can't tell my kids, they may put me in a home! lol

Anyway, I hope it is nicer in your part of the world than it is here. Spring is coming eventually I hope.

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Belated Happy Birthday!

Hello all of Sheri's friends! I just snuck in to Sheri's blog to show you a card I sent to her last week. It's a belated birthday card.....FYI.....not forgotten!! I was just too committed with DT work and my own xmas cards that I fell behind. NO EXCUSE!! So I was hoping that maybe if I sent her a belated card and made it a super star card all would be forgiven. I hope you agree. Sheri seems to have thought it was pretty nice so I think I'm off the hook. Phew!! LOL!!

A note from Sheri that this card is even more amazing in person! Thanks so much, my friend!!

HAPPY BELATED SHERI!!

A Valentine For You

Ahhh January is almost over and that means we are closer to spring. I say this as I just came inside from shoveling another 9 inches of snow off of our driveway. The sun is shining and it looks pretty outside but in reality it is only 8 degrees out there. A good time to stay inside and craft! With that said, here is a valentine I made a couple of weeks ago. I used PTI paper and a Nestie to cut out the hearts. I used scraps from my scrap box for the hearts and a piece of ribbon for the bow. I put the cut out heart piece up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from PTI's Heart Prints. Easy peasy!

Until next time, Happy trails to you....

To The Moon and Back

I had so much fun making this card. My friend Georgia gave me some of these cut out cards and I couldn't wait to play with them. I dug out my Pure Innocence Naptime stamp and colored her on white PIT paper with my Copics. I paper pieced her jammies with a scrap of paper out of my scrapbox. Ok, so now I need a moon. I found a sun I have had for years. It is by All Night Media and called Mary Sunshine. I then cut a circle out with my Nestibililities and colored the face of the sunshine directly onto the stamp and stamped it on the circle. Ahha! Perfect! So I added that and then found the sentiment on another Pure Innocence set. Now I just need a little girl to give it to. My only granddaughter is 21 so would probably not appreciate it. All of the rest of them are boys and I know they wouldn't like it. Hmmmm maybe one of my daughters??? Or maybe I will just keep it and gaze at it. I think it is one of my favorites.

Until next time... Happy trails to you!!

Snow Day

I am home for a second day for the snow we got Sunday night and Monday. We ended up with about 9 inches total and the winds kicked up today and blew it all around. It is much better so we will be back to work tomorrow. While home I thought I would participate in the Papertake Weekly Challenge. I made a Z-fold card. One I like but never think to make. I had fun making these Cats Pajama's kids playing in the snow. They are colored with my Copics and the base paper is Stampin Up. The designer paper was scraps from my stash. Lastly I put a generous amount of snowy sparkly Stickles to make the snow sparkle. I hope wherever you are you stay warm and have plenty of hot chocolate available!

Until next time - Happy Trails to you...
