Maggie with Coneflower

I am not sure what the name of this sweet little Maggie is but I love her.  If you know who she is, please leave me a comment so I will be able to identify her.  I had some paper in my stash that I really liked and wanted to use.  You can't see it but the paper is sparkly and so summery.  So I got my Copics out and colored her up.  I then used my MS grass punch and made some grass for her to stand in.

The garage sale is behind us.  The first day was very hot but the second day was cloudy on and off.  We didn't open on the last day due to rain.  Yup, finally we got rain!  Just short of a half an inch. First measurable rain since mid June.  Now we are back in the heat.  99 today and in the 90's for the rest of the week. Rumor has it that we are in for a long hard winter.  I guess time will tell.  We really do need moisture but it takes a ton of snow to get a little moisture so I vote for a rainy fall :)  Back to the garage sale, we did quite well.  Our expensive stuff is still here and the junk sold.  But there was a lot of junk and we have a nice chunk of change in our wallets.  Now to sell the more expensive things. Unfortunately I didn't have one stamper here - oh yes, I did.  My friends Georgia and Jan came and there was one man in his late 60's (a guess here) in coveralls and looking like he may have just come in from a junk yard.  He said he was a stamper and bought several stamping magazines for ideas.  Said he had tons of stamps at home.  Go figure!  I thought he was putting me on but when he started talking he sure knew the lingo so who knows.  That being said, I have a lot of Stamping Up! stamps still for sale, so if you are interested please email me.

A long weekend coming up.  Stay safe and enjoy it.  Anyone traveling?  If so please share where you are going.  Always looking for new ideas.

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Front and Back

When my stamping group met in DesMoines this summer Annie, who lives in Canada could not be with us in body but she was sure there in spirit.  She sent a packet of goodies for everyone.  In my packet was this stamp off of front and backs.  I had seen these before but never had made one.  Oh it was fun!  It took me forever to really figure it out.  Each time I thought I had it figured out I realized what I had done wasn't going to work.  In time I got it right and really like how it turned out.  I colored her with my Copics of course and used some old paper from my stash for the wallpaper.

Ok, you have listened to me complain all summer about the heat.  It has finally broken and we haven't seen 100 for awhile now.  In fact we broke a record for a low this last week.  It was 48 degrees!  This morning when I walked at 7:30 a.m. it was 52 degrees.  It gets warm during the day and cools off at night.  Perfect!  The rain is another story.  We got a quarter of an inch the other day but that is all we have had other than ten drops here and 5 drops there since mid June!

We are in the midst of getting ready for a garage sale.  Our neighborhood has an annual sale each year and I have always been working.  This year we can participate.  If you want any SU stamps let me know and I can send you a list of what I have before the sale on Thursday.  I also have some Stamping Bella stamps.

Oh!  Tomorrow is the first day of school here.  I plan to be finished with my walk so I can watch the kids walk up to the school.  It seems weird that I won't be there.  I have to admit I will miss the excitement of the first day and the little faces eager to be back and see their friends.

Until next time, happy trails to you...

Last week my friend Georgia went out of town to meet her brand new granddaughter and I went to her house to puppy sit.  She has an wonderful craft room and that is where I spent my time.  I made these two cards for my grandsons who go back to school tomorrow.  I used GinaK images, Spring Basket for the basket and Basket Additions 3 for the school supplies.  I colored with my Copic markers and used some paper I had taken with me.  I cut with a Spellbinder of Georgia's and don't remember the name of it.  When I got home I added the brads.

It has finally cooled off here but still no rain.  We have had a couple of teasers of a few drops here and there but nothing to speak of.

Until next time, happy trails to you!
