Birthdays and More Birthdays

Today is a very special day!  It is our grandson's 13th birthday.  His first day as a teenager.  Just wanted to say a very happy birthday to our newest teenager, Justin!  Happy birthday Sweetie, we love you.

And tomorrow, marks another special day.  Our oldest twin grandchildren, Makala and Matthew are 24 years old.  If that doesn't make me old, nothing does.  Of course I had their mom when I was 10 and she had the twins at 13.  LOL  I could try to pass that off but the gray hair and wrinkles tell a very different story!  Anyway a very happy birthday to you as well!  I hope the year makes all of your dreams and wishes come true!  We love you both!

Until next time, Happy trails to you!

Lions, Tigers and Birthday Cows - OH MY!

Oh my gosh!  Look at this adorable birthday cow.  What?  You have never seen a birthday cow before?  Well, here is the cutest birthday cow ever!  It was designed by Crissy's Digis for Whimsy Stamps.  I colored him up with Copic markers and added dots to his bow using a Sharpie Marker.  Then I Frantaged it.  I am loving that stuff - you really need to try it if you haven't already.  I used Nestabilities to cut it out and there you have the rest of the story!

I sure do hope you are having nice weather wherever you are.  Oh my are we ever in a heat wave.  It has been so hot and humid I am tempted to make breakfast on the sidewalk!  There is no rain or cooling in sight.  I told Bill the other day, that it will be a relief to shovel snow!  Now that is a sign of a heat damaged brain!

Until next time... Happy trails to you!

Summer Living

Summer time and the living is easy...  This gal is on the beach today with sunshine and heat.  Bet she will be getting her tan on!  Isn't that what the kids are all saying now?  The image is a Whimsy digital image by Marika Collins and can be found here  I colored her with my Copics and gave her a pierced belly button to keep with the times.  Ouch is my thought!  I think I am glad I am old!  LOL  I added some sunglasses and put some rhinestones on them as well.  Finally I used some Frantage that I finally received in the mail.  It looks a bit like sand tossed around, doesn't it?  The background paper looks red on my computer but it is really a pinkish rose color.    I am having so much fun with this Whimsy release.  So many fun images to pick from it is hard to decide what to get first!  Check them all out right here on the Whimsy site.

Until next time, happy trails to you.....

Don't Pin the Tail On Me!

This little Donkey is from Whimsy Stamps and it is a digital image!  Oh how I love the digis!  I fought digis tooth and nail - either rubber or acrylic was the only way to go - I thought.  Well since I have been using digis I have been totally convinced that this is the way to go.  Look at all of the room you save in storage!  And the fact that you can resize and flip and do so much with them, they are hands down, the best choice.  Anyway, back to this card.   This cutie can be found here at Crissy's Digis.  I used a Papertrey Ink paper pack for the paper, A Nestability for the frame, and Memory Box dies for the fence and the leaves.  So tell me, are you a digi person or a rubber/acrylic person?

It sure doesn't seem like summer is either over or winding down quickly.  My grandson's started school yesterday already.  It will be fall and cool weather before we know it and all of those pesky leaves will need to be raked up.  The summers just get shorter and shorter, don't they?  What happened to the lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer?  Now everyday is filled with things to do and they fly by.  No lazy days for us but lots of crazy ones!

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Raggedy

I am way late posting this card.  I  made it in June when our group met in Des Moines.  The pinwheel paper is by Echo Park and called Sweet Day. I don't remember who made the flowers but they are acrylic and I got them at Archivers.  The punch at the bottom is a Martha Stewart and the image is a Bestie and colored with my Copic markers.  I was pleased with how she turned out.

I am reading about all of the flooding in so many areas and yet here we can't squeeze a drop of rain out of the sky.  It has been so humid of late but the temperatures have been in the mid to high 80's so if you are just sitting, it is tolerable and even fairly nice!  Hope all is well where you live!

Until next time, happy trails to you....

Clean and Simple - Whimsy Style

We were challenged to  make a clean and simple card.  Well, this is my version of clean and simple.  It was just screaming for a bow so I gave in and put one on.  I used a Stampin Up embossing folder on the PTI black paper.  Then I added the beautiful verse by the talented Kathryne from StampArt Design by Kathryne.  I am not sure that this image is available at the moment but she assured me that it would be very shortly.  I used a Nestability to cut out the verse and then sponged around it while it was still in the die.  Added the ribbon and bow and called it good!  Now I am not sure if this is what was meant as clean and simple but I do like how it turned out.  What do you think?

Until next time, happy trails to you...

I chose to work with Spunky the Mouse from StampArt Design.   I sized the main image and then used another image and resized him smaller and flipped him.  I love this about digital stamps,  There is no end to what you can do with them.  After I was happy with how they looked, I colored them with my Copic markers and the to get the mottled look on the mice, I went over it quickly with a blender pen.  Then again with W1 to tone it all down.  I also used a new to me Magnolia Viewmaster die and a Memory box border die.  I finished it off with 3 Twinkle Goosebumps.

Now is a great time to get those images for back to school so hop on over to see what all of the Design Team members have created for you today.  Remember, if you leave a comment,  you could win a prize!

Until next time, Happy trails to you!
