Penny Black Flowers

Happy Saturday!  Are you all watching the Olympics?  I just love to watch as much as possible. I loved the opening ceremonies last night.  All 4 1/2 - 5 hours of it.

For my card today, I chose these Penny Black flowers.  I sponged on some ink from Close to My Heart and for the life of me I can't find the paper where I wrote down the colors.  I then punched some scallops with my SU punch and tied a bow and it was done.  Oh I almost forgot, I did go back and add some clear Stickles to the flowers and they really popped - no matter how I angled the card, I could not get that sparkle to show up.

We were hoping for rain this week but no such luck.  It has been over a month since we have had a good rain.  We went to my cousin's farm last Monday and you could really see the burned up corn in the fields.  My cousin irrigates so no problems there except for the cost.  It is so sad, last year they were fighting the floods and this year we can't squeeze a drop of rain from the skies.  And the heat has been unrelenting.  We have had many days this month when our thermometer has been between 105 and 111 degrees.  I hope it is better where you are!

Until next time, Happy trails to you :)

  1. GORGEOUS card, Sheri! The colors you used are wonderful, as well as the layers of punched lace. The flowers you used are perfect, and if I look close, I can see some sparkle! WELL DONE!
We finally had some rain....almost 3/4 of an inch....yay. Now it's supposed to get hot again.

  2. Sheri, I love your card! Why didn't I order that stamp? The layered punched edges are such a nice addition to the card along with the ribbon!!!

  3. It's a really pretty card. I love the colors. Not enough rain here too. Hope this doesn't mean we get it all at once this winter.

  4. So pretty, Sheri! Love the colors and the great layers. I'm sure the sparkle is awesome, too. We've been lucky and have gotten enough rain lately. We had more during the night and this morning. It's been hot here, but not as hot as down there! I'm so glad you're not going back to work, especially without air conditioning!
