There is a lady who is very special to me. She is not a blood relative but even if she were it would be a second cousin. She and her husband, Lowell took my girls for a week every summer when they were small so that that could experience a week on the farm. They loved it! And when I was a child my sister and I would stay for a week with Lowell's parents. Lowell was my second cousin. It was a time never forgotten. Now as time slips away so quickly we only see each other about once or twice a year. I wish it could be more often though. Joanne has a birthday today and I wanted to take time to wish her a very happy birthday and to also let her know how very much she means to me. So, without further ado, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANNE!!
Until next time, happy trails to you!!

A Bit of Encouragement
Last week I was looking for a stamp and ran across a few that I had from Rubberneckers. They have been neglected for way too long so I got them out and started to play. Oh why have they been neglected? They make such beautiful cards. I made this one for a friend who is going through cancer treatment. She is almost at the end and needs encouragement. What a difficult journey it is. But to come out on the other side makes you a changed person forever.
We are having our April showers now. It has rained the last two nights and supposed to have rain on and off all week. I want to do some planting so I hope the sun comes out and dries up all the rain during the day. Do I sound like the itsy bitsy spider? LOL

For You
A very simple card but I love the colors! This is a Memory Box die that I used with a scrap of paper underneath it. The sentiment is from Avery Elle. The flower is a sticker that I have had forever!
I will enter this card into the http://southernchipboard.blogspot.ca/2015/04/april-challenge-anything-goes.html challenge. It was a month long challenge so figured I could squeeze one more card in time.
A rainy day here so I will read my latest library book. It is a Danielle Steel book called Prodigal Son. So far it is really good!
I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday wherever you are. Do something fun

Graduation Time
At church we have 9 kids that are graduating from various schools and colleges. I was asked to make cards for them. I did each one in their particular school colors and enjoyed doing them. I popped up the focal point so as to give it a bit of dimension. This school year just flew by! Seems these kids were just settling into their classrooms to get started.
The stamps are all from Papertrey Ink.
I plan to enter this into the Southern Ridge Trading Company Challenge.
I have been able to read a bit with the rainy days - if I could just stay awake with the cloudy rainy dreary days. I pick up my book and before long I am asleep! Won't be long before we will be planting our summer flower beds.

FOR YOU!
So I have a real hard time with some of the paper pads I buy. I love them but then can't figure out how to use them. My friend, Stephanye over at http://pocketpapergarden.blogspot.com/ does beautiful cards with paper and very little stamping. So I went to her house one day and we played with my paper packs and this is what I made, with her help. I really liked it! The piece of paper had all these jars all over it and I just didn't see how to use that paper. Ok, now I get it! Thanks Stephanye! Ok, back to the craft room!

Happy Birthday Marj!
Today is cold and snowy! Yes, it is snowing in Nebraska. Tomorrow is supposed to be 65 degrees and sunny. Go figure. Right now it is 36 degrees and feels like 26. The roofs, decks and grassy areas are covered. But the sun is shining in Shickley NE where Marj is celebrating her birthday today! I made her this card and she just told me she got it so it is safe to post here. Not sure she looks at my blog, but just in case.
I am reading Debbie Macomber's latest book called Last One Home and it is delightful! Her stories are all predictable but her writing is so good you just can't put them down.

Happy Easter!
Where did this week go? I had planned on putting up a card every other day this week but here it is Friday and I am putting all three up! I won't have time over the weekend and Monday is after the fact so I hope you are not nodding off looking at three at once!
The first two are made from Lawn Fawn's new Easter stamps. I believe they are called Earristable! Fun, yes? Pretty simple, colored with Copics and the grass was punched from a Martha Stewart punch.
The last one is done with Papertrey Ink stamps. The flowers are in an old set called Life. The sentiment is from their new Easter stamps set. I used Momento ink to sponge the background. Pretty clean and simple but the effect is huge!
I wish you a Blessed Easter. If you are traveling please be safe.
Until next time.... Happy trails to you!
