Still More Christmas Cards

The door with the wreath on it is a case of a neighbor, Stephanye Foster.  She makes amazing cards and I really liked this one.  The second card uses some stickers (the tree and reindeer) that I had forgotten I had.  That's it for now!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

More Christmas Cards

I am back this morning with some more Christmas cards I made this year. The snowman is a new stamp I got this year.  It is from Stampendous.  I never buy wood stamps anymore but this guy was so cute, I just could not resist.   The Nativity is a set from Paper Smooches and it is Pinterest inspired.  The third card is blog inspired.  I am guessing from Jennifer McGuire but not positive.  I used trees from a Paper Trey Ink set and then cut the words out and placed them back in.  That's all for today!

Christmas Cards Part 1

Usually I make my cards all alike except for a very few.  This year there were so many great ideas out there I made them all different.  I thought it would be fun to post some of the ones I have made so I think I will do this from now until Christmas.  Hopefully I will remember to do more!  I have seen variations of these cards either on blogs or on Pinterest and would love to give credit but now have no idea who to give credit to!  Sorry but know I loved your cards!

Oh Deer!

Today I was looking at some blogs and saw a card similar to this one.  All I know is that Jenny made it.  I am sorry I don't know Jenny's last name.  I believe she used all Memory Box dies and mine are all Impression Obsession.  I used distress inks for the background - sky, water and yellow glow.  I had fun making this one!  My cards are already out for this year so I guess it will be the beginning of next years cards!

Oh Christmas Tree...

It doesn't seem possible that the turkey has been put away and Christmas is approaching quickly.  I am  making cards to send for my personal use and also for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  Are you all ready for the holidays?  I think I am about finished with the shopping and didn't have to leave my house on Black Friday.  No way to I get into those crowds!  How  many of you go out in the middle of the night for the deals on Black Friday?

Our Thanksgiving Day was chilly but today was in the 50's and they are saying tomorrow may be 60!  I will take those temperatures all day long!  Lucy and I got to walk without freezing today.

Until next time, Happy trails to you!...

Sweetie

My Copic markers were sitting in their bag and when I walked into my craft room I thought I heard crying.  I checked in the bag and there they were, crying and asking why they aren't being used.  They sure weren't feeling the love.  I had not been using them too much lately.   So I promised them that I would let them out and get some fresh air the next day.  I held true to that promise and colored up this sweetie which was a stamp off from a friend.  I then thought that I had not used my Frantage embossing powder in a long way so I dug that out as well.  I am happy with how the card turned out.  I don't think you can see it but the paper has an ombre look to it.

Our weather is certainly wintery now.  We have had snow twice now.  And it has been windy and bitterly cold.  Ok, now I am ready for spring!  Enough of this! But it is nice to snuggle up under a big blanket and read a good book.

Until next time, happy trails to you...

Thanksgiving is Coming

Ok, this is really not a Thanksgiving card but I thought this may be a good time to post it.  Actually I made it last winter!   I colored her with my Copics and then fussy cut her out.  I then mounted her on cream cardstock and then on a piece of black cardstock with cream behind that.  I used gold embossing powder to heat set the words.

Until next time, happy trails to you!!!

Holly Jolly

The other day Laura Bassen showed a card like this and I loved it!  Her colors are always spot on and of course I didn't have the colors she used but instead I used some of my Distress inks so I could make my version of her card.  I like how it came out.  I started by sponging on my trees and then took it to my Big Shot and cut the Holly Jolly word out of the colored trees.  Saving all the little pieces, I reassembled and then decided to add a few little stars.  You can't see it but I put a touch of Wink of Stella on the stars.  Also, even though it does not look like it, the stars are the same colors as  the trees.  I hope you like it!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

For Jean

A couple of weeks ago I posted one of my fall cards with leaves.  My friend Jean had seen all of the ones I had made and this one was her favorite.  She made me promise to put it on my blog and then I forgot.  So, Jean, better late than never!

We have had absolutely beautiful weather in Nebraska this fall.  The trees are so pretty and the sky is so blue and the temperatures are in the high 60's and low 70's.  I do realize this is all going to come to a crashing stop but for now, we are sure enjoying it!  It was so nice all of last week that Lucy and I walked 81,753 steps and 37.29 miles!  Yup, I have started wearing my FitBit again.  I was using my phone but the FitBit is more accurate.

So we are heading out for a walk now so until next time, happy trails to you!!

Hello!

I am a brand new Card Angel!  I received my first assignment Sunday and this is the card I made for her.  I used Distress inks and a Memory Box stencil called Mesh to make this card.  I inked on the "just wanted to say" and used a die cut for the "hello".  Now I have to write a note and tell her who I am and pop it in the mail.  If you are wondering what a Card Angel is, my friend Bicka told me about them.  They are a group who sends cards to people with cancer.  You can also send a small gift occasionally if you want to.  You apply and then the match you with someone and you become their angel.  I think it is a great program - who doesn't like to get happy mail?

Yesterday my grandson, Justin was here and we cleaned out my garage.  Boy did it need it! We pulled out everything and put it in the driveway and sorted through stuff.   We were able to toss a lot of junk and rearrange things.  Sure looks nice in there now!  We had such a nice day to do it and today is cold and rainy, so I would say we did it just in time!

Since it is such a miserable day, I think I will stay in and stamp and catch up on my  reading.  I hope it gets nice later or at least quits raining so Lucy and I can go on our walk.  We have been doing really well at getting our 10,000 steps in every day!

Until next time, Happy trails to you!!!

Fun with Leaves

I made a ton of leaves with a die and distress inks.  Then I had to put them on cards!  They are so fun to make I just couldn't stop.  Some of them I then embossed like these.  Some I brushed with a Wink of Stella clear pen.  Anyway I am into leaves at the moment.  Even though it is in the 80's here at home.  My driveway is full of acorns and the leaves have started to fall so it won't be long before I will be really really tired of leaves!

Until next time, Happy trails to you!!

HAPPY FALL!

Well the weather is a little cooler and the leaves are starting to fall.  The sunflowers are huge this year and the birds will enjoy them for months to come.  I love the cooler weather but am not crazy about the snow and ice that will be following along with bitter cold temperatures.  And being cooped up inside for weeks at a time.  Oh well, it's the price you pay to live in Nebraska!  A good time to curl up with a stack of books and a boatload of stamps and while the days and weeks away.

Until next time, happy trails to you

Craft Room

I thought I would share my new craft room with you.  I finally finished it in August and have been working in it for about a month now.  I so love having everything in one place.  The first picture is a new bookcase I bought and filled up and it holds all of the stuff I use a lot and next to it is my scrap paper on the top in the black and white bag and the three baskets below are embossing things.

This is a framed piece that I bought when Michelle, my daughter and I were in Chicago earlier this summer.  It says CREATE and each letter was a photo taken in and around Chicago.
My pride and joy is this island I designed.  There are two pictures of it, one looking straight on and the other looking from the bookcase side.  In the front I have all of my acrylic stamps in Avery Elle envelopes in Refrigerator bins from Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Notice I chose not to have doors on the front because for me it is out of sight out of mind and I wanted to see them all the time.  In the second picture is my dies, embossing folders, sewing machine, and Cuttlebug.

I have two library card catalogs in my room.  They store a ton of things that I use.  Some I use a lot and some I just use occasionally but it is all there and each drawer is labeled.   The other picture is down a little ways.  Sorry about that mix up.

This picture is  of my husband and myself.  I keep him close to me always.
These are  my Martha Stewart punches.  Next to them is my Ikea cart.  It holds my Copic markers and other stuff that I am currently working on.
My smaller library card catalog and in the plaid cooler are more punches.
This bookcase holds my wood stamps in the gray and black boxes and also my SU stamps.  Some of my paper is in the case above the bookcase and stickers are in the brown basket.
Finally my work table.  So that is what the top looks like!  I haven't seen it in a long time!  LOL  I am having friends over to craft soon so must clean it off!   Thanks for letting me take you on this tour of my happy space.

Until next time, Happy trails to you!

With Sympathy

We all hate to have to make these cards so I thought I would make a few in advance and hope I never have to use them.  But I am doing a card ministry at my Church so I imagine that I will need some sooner than later.  This was a simple card using kraft cardstock and embossed the flowers with white embossing powder.

I have been doing a lot of reading.  All of the books I had on order from our library came at once. The two I liked the best and are well worth reading is A Perfect Life by Danielle Steel and The Matchmaker by Elin Hildebrand.

Last card for Class

The last card for class.  This was done with distress inks but just ink to paper.  I love the way they blend together so nice.  The stars and the black scribble are from Papertrey Ink as is the sentiment.  I hope you like it.  I really like the colors of this one.

Until next time, Happy trails to you!!!

Online Card Class

Here is another card I made during the card class.  These classes are amazing!  This was made on watercolor paper with distress inks and then the light droplets are water I tapped on the paper after the color was put on.  So what do you think?  I think I will do this again only maybe with a little softer colors.  This one is very bright and cheery!

Stretch Your Stamps Second Card

I can't figure out how to use the same URL for two cards.  If anyone knows how, please email me!  Anyway this is the second card I made and the frame is the same but the word Smile and the butterflies are a different background stamp.  I like how bright and cheery this one is.
Thanks for looking!

NEW CLASS!

I am taking another class at Online Card Classes called Stretch Your Stamps.  The first day was yesterday and I made two cards by using a background stamp, putting Versa Mark on it, and heat embossing.  Then I used Distress Inks to color them.  I like how the first one came out!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AARON!!!!!

July 19 was the day our last grandbaby was born.  He is 10 years old now.  Where did the years go?  He is and always has been a little stinker and we love him dearly.  He is having a pool party this year so this was a perfect card to go along with the theme.  I colored it with my Copics and used a very old punch for the waves.  The image is a new one from Mo Manning.  Isn't it just adorable?

Cup of Tea and a Good Friend

When I was in Des Moines with my card group, I found this new Graphic Art paper and had to buy it.  I cut it into several pieces for several cards and added the bling and the flowers.  Added a ribbon strip across the front with a multi colored string.  Then cut a tag from a PTI die and cut the word Hello and popped it up on the card.  I think it came out nice and am anxious to play with the rest of the paper.

Des Moines

My Yahoo group met from Sunday to Tuesday in Des Moines IA.  On Monday and Tuesday we went to Outstamping Designs and were lucky enough to be able to take an Anna Griffin class.  They were all done with embossing folders and die cuts.  It was an amazing class and we made these four beautiful cards.  Marj Huber and all of the ladies were such nice hostess' and we decided we would return again next year!  Get ready ladies!  Here we come!!

Posies - Happy Birthday

This is another card made from a Memory Box die.  I cut the die on white paper and then pieced in the colors with other paper that I had in my stash.  I made this awhile ago so don't remember who the sentiment is from but my guess is PTI.  I liked the bright colors of this one.

If you are looking for a great book, get Lisa Scottoline's newest book called Keep Quiet.  It is excellent!  I just finished it last night.  I could not put it down and that was after my daughter and I spent 4.5 days in Chicago and I was exhausted!

A Beautiful Birthday

I made this one for my sister in law who is having a birthday soon.  This is a new Papertrey set that I can see becoming a favorite set of mine.  The font is amazing!  This butterfly die is so pretty and I used some glitter paper with white glitter paper behind it.

We have been having beautiful weather.  Cool and low humidity.  Perfect!  I would not be unhappy to have this all year round!  But I know we will get out heat and humidity sooner than later.  Lucy and I are enjoying walking in the cooler weather though.

Until next time, happy trails to you.....

Oh My Stars!

This is a fairly new set from Papertrey Ink.  I think there are tons of possibilities and in fact I want to try something else yet tonight.  Love the verse that came with this set.  I sent this one to a friend for her birthday.  I hope she likes it.  She does not see my blog so I won't ruin the surprise.

I just finished the last of The Walk series by Richard Paul Evans.  Each and every one of them was excellent.  This one was called Walking On Water.  But you need to start with the first one.  You won't be sorry!

We have had some storms here lately.  My neighborhood has escaped most of the damage but there has been lots of damage around.  Huge hail and big winds.

ENJOY Your Birthday

I just got this new stamp set and die from Papertrey Ink.  It comes with lots of different sentiments you can use but I needed birthday cards for June.  I love the bright primary colors of this one.  I had fun making it and playing with the die. Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me today.

Birthday Pieced Poppy

Another poppy card to share.  I love poppies!  This one is a Memory Box die that I cut twice and saved the pieces from the yellow one and pieced back into the die after mounting it on the red paper.  The Happy Birthday is also a die.  I added a few pearls to finish it off.

Poppies

Our dear neighbors have been such a help to me lately that I certainly wanted to send a thank you.  These poppies were just the ticket.  When I walk I walk by a house that has beautiful poppies.  They will be moving to Missouri soon and asked if I wanted some.  Oh yeah!  So hopefully I will have some pretty poppies soon.  I believe spring is back again.  It was cold, drizzly and dark all week.  The weatherman says we have turned a corner and spring is here again.  Just hope it stays this time.

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Our family has just gone through a very difficult time.  Without friends and family I don't know what we would have done.  I know that we have the very best and we sure do appreciate them all.  So, I had made this card awhile back for another friend and it just seemed appropriate to put it on my blog today.  The music is Memory Box, the sentiment is Stampin Up!  And the wildflowers are Crafty Secrets.  I colored them with my Copic markers.  I hope to be back to more regular blogging again soon.  Until next time, happy trails to you...

Easter Chicks

When I was a child (eons ago) there was a feedstore not too far from our house.  Around Easter every year, they had little chicks and some were dyed spring colors.  I am so glad they don't do that anymore.  But it was fun to color up some chicks in spring colors!  I used a free digi stamp from Wink Wink.  These were colored up with my Copic markers and then I went for the clean and simple look.

Happy Birthday Marj!

My cousin, Marj has a birthday coming up in a couple of days but she has already received her card so thought we could celebrate here a bit early.  I hope you have a wonderful birthday!  This card was made with dp from my stash and a new stamp set from PTI.  Loving these new birthday sentiments.  I sponged the background.
We are supposed to have some April showers today but I will believe it when I see it.  Seems the last couple of years all we get are drippy weather.  No real rain storms.  I love a good thunder storm and sure miss them.

The butterfly that didn't make it.

Everyone makes mistakes, right?  Live and learn, right?  Well I learned what not to do when I made this card!  I loved the card when I finished it.  But then I thought the antenna needed to stand out a little more.  I had embossed the butterfly originally and used white embossing powder.  So I got out my Zig Millennum pen and made them darker.  It really looked good!  Card done and happy stamper.  I moved it to the other room and brought it back out to show someone and the black had smeared and I mean really smeared.  Usually I can cover up a mistake but putting a butterfly on it but not this time!  LOL  Oh well, live and learn, right?

Happy Birthday to You!

I just received an order from Papertrey Ink and could not wait to try out this die.  I cut it out and then spattered it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine.  I had the Memory Box butterfly so cut it out and popped it on top. A quick card but a fun one!

Until next time...  Happy trails to you!
