Time to Garden

I just love this happy little gardener.  She is a Whimsy digital image and can be found right here.  I colored her with Copic markers and added a little white dots to her boots.  Looks like she is doing the happy dance because it is springtime.  The papers are scraps from left over projects.  The flower is from Memory Box and I think it is the chrysanthemum die.  I made it while I was puppy sitting for my friend Georgia.  I added a button to the top and popped it up with pop dots.  I hope you like this one.  She was sure fun to color up!

I know I talked about telling you of good books that I read and I forget to mention them.  I have read a couple of very good books lately.  I just finished Richard Paul Evans latest in The Walk Series.  It was called A Step of Faith and it was excellent!  Another one I read was Maeve Binchy last book before she passed away.  It was really good as well and titled A Week In Winter.  I have lots more on my list as well.  Stay tuned!

It doesn't seem possible that tomorrow is the last day of school.  That means in another week I will have been retired for one whole year.  WOW!  Where did that go?  The year just flew by and I can honestly say I was not bored for one minute!  I highly recommend it!

Until next time, happy trails to you!

Memorial Day

Just a quick post today to thank all of our servicemen past and present for protecting our great country.  This image is from Eat Cake Graphics and I think it says it all.  Love that these little kids are learning to respect our veterans as they should.  I hope you all have a good Holiday and enjoy the first days of warm weather - at least in Nebraska!

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

LULU

Isn't this little girl sweet?  I just love her.  She is a digi from Whimsy and can be found right here.  She comes with bonus grass that I forgot to use!  She also comes with 2 bonus sentiments one of which I used on my card.  The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch as is the grass.
Following are the Copic colors I used to color her with:
Skin:  E50, E21, R20, R30
Eyes: YG05
Hair:  E40, E42, E44
Shit:  Y02
Pants: R32
Flower:  R08, Y17 and E29 for the center
Stem: YG03, G97

See, not much shading - just plain coloring on this one.

Until next time, happy trails to you!

FULL BLOOM

Another Whimsy Digital image.  I have to tell you that I was not sure about this image before I started playing with it.  This image is called Full Bloom and can be found here.  I thought it looked like so many other flower images but I was so wrong.  You can color this like I did or make the flowers different colors. Also I found some colors that when used one on top of the other make the planter look like brass.  Can you see the yellows and greens in it?  I am very pleased with how it came out.  The butterflies own the side are a Memory Box die.  You can't see it but I sprayed it with Glitter Mist after it was done and it just sparkles in real life.

Until next time, Happy trails to you!

Ahoy Mate!

If we get much more rain we may need this boat!  Well, actually we need the rain but come on, all at once?  We need some sunshine!  And when we do get sun, we can sit outside and watch the grass grow!

On to the card.  Isn't this an adorable image from Whimsy?  It is a new May release digi from LiaStampz that you can find here.  I put Versamark all around the edges of the cardstock and then red embossing powder.  I like the look alot!  The stars are Memory Box die that I cut down in size.  And I put the Copic colors in a basket to show you what I used.  Hey!  I finally remembered to do that.  Wishing you sunny days on quiet seas!

Until next time,  happy trails to you!

OH LA LA!!

Time for a new Whimsy digital release and I chose this Glamour Girl that the super talented Marika Collins designed.  I love to create stories about people while I am coloring them and she is no exception.  I think she is looking for her handsome prince.  I wonder if he is at the party waiting with the glass slipper.  She is colored with my Copics and I forgot to save the colors.  Darn I need to get better at that.  I cut her out with my Nestabilities and used paper and ribbon from my scrap pile.  Be sure to check out all of the new digis.  There are some amazing images by lots of artists.  And you can resize them, flip them to suit your needs.  I am a firm believer in digital images - saves so much storage space!

Until next time, happy trails to you...
