Image Candy

My friend, Eulanda over at http://www.eulandasilvey.blogspot.com/ is doing a blog candy for some images she had. Well, don't many of us have images we are not using? I thought I could help her out so more people could have images. She had specific qualifications such as new to stamping, unable to purchase many stamps, and someone who does not use Copics as a lot or most of them are not Copic friendly. I went through my images and will help her send to those who need them. If I have any left over, I will do the same thing here. I am showing just a small amount of the images I have to give away.

Until next time... Happy trails to you!

Think Pink!!

Good morning to you all. Today is the start of the Pink Magnolia Blog Hop so in honor of that I made a Magnolia card to share. Now if I can just figure out how to add it to the hop... oh well, I have a week or two to do it! Anyway it is the 60's Magnolia and I colored her with Copics and then put Diamond Glaze over her sucker. For the bar stool I used a scrap of silver sparkle paper I had left over and I do mean a scrap. Glad I didn't toss that teeny tiny piece of paper! The juke box and records was from a very very old Personal Stamp Exchange set. They are foam stamps ladies! Remember them? I knew if I hung on to it long enough I would find a use for it. Anyway they are also colored with Copics and have Diamond Glaze on the top. Tilda and the juke box are popped up with pop dots. The background paper is from a Basic Grey Porcelain paper pad. I think she is adorable sitting there waiting for her friends to come by. When I took the picture of the card, I couldn't resist grabbing some of my old 45's and putting her amongst them. I know, it really dates me but I was a teenager in the 60's! Just brought back so many memories for me. I spent the rest of the afternoon looking through all of my old 45's. Anyone else old enough to have some? Don't even ask me how I knew where they were. Just luck I think!

After you have checked out my card, be sure to hop on over to Jacque's blog to see her amazing card, and then follow her to visit the other blogs. http://www.jacquesmagnolias.blogspot.com/

Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Finally Saturday

Oh my goodness. We had to work 5 whole days this week! That takes a lot of time out of my day! Really, it was nice to get back to a normal schedule. The snow has been melting but of course now it is dirty and sloppy outside. I don't like this part of winter. Our garage floors are all so messy you can't walk outside into them. There have been several roofs that have caved in due to the huge weight of all of the snow on them so hopefully that will cease. Yesterday morning we woke up to freezing fog. That is what all of the news people called it so I am going with it. It was so pretty. Instead of a card this morning, I think I will put up a picture of the freezing fog. I know I always complain about our winters, but when you wake up to something like this, it is all worthwhile. I took these pictures at the school where I work.

Until next time, happy trails to you

Sympathy

Sometimes we have to make a card we don't want to make. It happened to me this last week, I needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her father. I think when we make them we are taking the time to think of the person who is gone and of their family. Sometimes I think of funny things that they have done or ways they have touched my life and sometimes I pray while I am making the card. Pray for the family that is left behind, pray for the soul of the person winging his or her way to Heaven. With that said, here is the card I made for my friend

I used Just Rite Stamper stamps and DP paper from my stash. I embossed the oval with gold embossing powder. And the ribbon is from a local store.

It is still snowy here in Nebraska. In fact we had another storm come through this last week and we were out of school another 3 days. It has been bitterly cold however today is a whopping 27 degrees and we are ready to go out in short sleeves and shorts! It feels so nice outside. Well, maybe not quite that nice but lots better than what we have been seeing for the last few weeks.

I was so lucky to have won some awesome blog candy lately. First from Scrap Bitz (http://scrapbitz.blogspot.com/) I won an awesome fantabulous 12 x 12 Tonic paper cutter. Oh how I love it! Also included was an 6x6 Basic grey paper pad called Sugar Rush. What amazing papers! Thanks so much! Then I won some designer paper from Paper Pleasing Ideas (http://paperpleasing.typepad.com/). I am waiting on its arrival but it will be wonderful I am sure. Finally I won an Olympic scarf from Tanya at Stampers Ink (http://www.stampersink.net/). It should be here tomorrow so I will be wearing it by tomorrow night! Thank you all. I still can't believe it! I have entered to win blog candy forever and never won anything. All of a sudden I won three things in a row! Perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket!

Until next time, Happy Trails to You

I am so ready for spring. And here it is only the first part of January! It is 15 degrees below zero this morning and it is supposed to get colder all week. Then tomorrow we are to get another 3 - 7 inches of snow. I have no idea where we will put it. I can't reach the top of the piles of snow now! My poor little dog goes outside to go potty and if she steps anywhere out of the path I have made for her, she sinks out of sight.

Anyway, I am sure you didn't come here today to hear me complain so I will just put up a happy Magnolia scene that I made thanks to Diana over at http://www.magnoliastamps.us/ I bought these two stamps when it was 90 degrees outside and it looked so refreshing. Now not so much LOL! I colored them with my Copics and added a lot of glitter.

A couple of people wanted to know where I got the background paper. It is not background paper but a stamps and I colored it as well. Then added the glittery stars to the sky. Thanks for asking :)

Until next time, Happy trails to you. Stay warm wherever you are
