Valentine's Day Already??
Alright it may be a tad bit early for Valentine's Day cards but I am home for 2 weeks so what better time to start on them? This is the first one I made so far. I used Bazzill paper Guava Sensation and Cherry Splash for the papers. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and I have had it forever. I used PaperTrey Ink's Fancy Flourishes and embossed the hearts with silver embossing powder. I used the Nesties for the Valentine Wishes cutout and the squares and scallops. Then pulled out my Cuttlebug embossing folder "hearts" for the background.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that travel was not difficult. Goodness it sounds like everywhere except the midwest was hit with either rain or snow. And lots of it! They are talking about a winter storm coming our way way tomorrow night. I don't think it will amount to much but I am still ready for spring!
Happy New Year to everyone! Blessing and good health to all in 2011!
Until next time, Happy trails to you.....

Merry Christmas
I am a day late in posting this week. I usually try to post every Saturday but yesterday was my birthday and we ran all day long. First to do our Saturday errands and then last night we all went to dinner and then to look at Christmas lights. It was such a nice evening and we saw some amazing light displays.
This is my last Christmas card for the year. It is another Penny Black sticker card with glitter on the holly berries and an embossed background. The green ribbon on the right looks black but it isn't, trust me :) I could not get it to come out green for the life of me.
I am off for two whole weeks now. I am so excited! And the school year is officially half over. The last day of the semester was Friday. Boy has the year gone fast!
If I don't get a chance to jump back on here I want to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. Please know that I appreciate each and every one of you. I really do appreciate the comments and the emails you send. Keep it up and bring your friends!!!
Until next time... Happy trails to you.....

Christmas Time
I can't even believe that two weeks from now it will be all over. Are you finished shopping yet? I have one more gift to buy. This is my Christmas card for this year. I used PaperTrey Ink stamps Merry and Bright and the sentiment is from Merry and Bright Additions. This card was published in a magazine called Through the Classroom Door a publication by Suzanne Dean, http://www.craftdoormagazine.com/
We had blizzard conditions here yesterday. The warmest it got was a wind chill of 23 degrees below zero. We got very little snow though so that was good. Brrr and our little Lucy refused to go out so I had to walk her. Thank goodness for my new coat. I was toasty the whole time!
Until next time... Happy Trails to you!

Snowman Time
Boy, it seems like just yesterday we were starting a new school year and now Christmas is upon us. I think I need to start shopping! I have a few things but am far from finished. I need to organize and figure out what I need. I think most of it is gift certificates so that will be easy. Our school winter program is next week and as if the kids weren't crazy enough right now this may just send them over the edge. We have two more weeks before break and each day gets crazier!
My card today is a stamp off I got last summer and I believe it is a Magnolia stamp but I am just not sure. I used my Copics to color and then paper from my stash. Frosty's hat uses Fun Flocking for the ball on the hat and I sprinkled glitter over the snow on the ground and also on the lantern.
Thank you Eulanda for changing my blog header and making it look so Christmas-y. I LOVE it!
Until next time, Happy Trails to You....

Happy Birthday Mom
I just received my first package with some Lili of the Valley stamps. Oh they are so cute! I had to get one of them inky immediately and had a ball coloring her. I colored her with my Copics and then added the silver glitter pen on the bow of the present. I put glitter from the Art Institute on her skirt and her hair thingys. The flowers are from Prima and the lace is some that I had gotten at a garage sale this last summer. The background paper is forever old and I have no idea where I got it. I completed her with the Wishing You also from Lili of the Valley. Today would have been my Mom's 94th birthday but we lost her a year ago in September. So this card will be dedicated to my mom. Just the kind of card she would have liked. She loved pink - the more the better!
Until next time....

Thanksgiving
Can you believe it is the week of Thanksgiving already? Wasn't it summer just yesterday? I have begun my Christmas shopping but barely scratched the surface. If my family would just give me a list it would be so much easier. Or if everyone was a stamper that would even be better! Anyway, I intended to make several Thanksgiving cards but time got away from me and I only made 3 or 4. They were all made with stickers which made it especially easy. The first card is a double gatefold card that I first saw on GinaK's Stamp TV. I had a lot of fun making them. I have never been good at making cards with stickers. My friend Georgia is the queen of sticker cards. I keep buying them but until now have never made one that I really was happy with.
I wish everyone a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving.
Until next time... Happy Trails to you

For The Boys
A friend of mine, Vicki, obtained a list of servicemen and women to send Christmas cards to. I jumped at the opportunity and worked on my cards this weekend. I will show you one today that I made. I am usually sticker challenged but I was happy with the way they came out. I cut a border around the sticker and then used Stickles to make the berries glitter. I used a Cuttlebug folder on the front of the card. The cardstock is Rustic Cream by PaperTreyInk. I hope you enjoy my card and come back next time for another one.
Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Fireman
Oh my goodness the time has really flown by. I am just now realizing that I haven't posted in 2 weeks! Last weekend we were busy all weekend with Halloween stuff. First Lucy went to a costume party and the grandkids came over to trick or treat early so they could stay in their neighborhood Sunday night. And of course all of the little ghosts and goblins. It is so fun to see how they are all dressed.
Our school had the firemen come to eat with the kindergartners. They really think it is a big deal when the visit so we wanted to make a thank you card for them. I used a Whipper Snapper stamp of the fireman and colored him with my Copics. The paper and buttons are from PaperTreyInk and the ribbon is from Stampin Up. A pretty easy and quick card. I hope they liked it!
Until next time... happy trails to you...

Fall has arrived in Nebraska
First and foremost, I have to thank my friend Eulanda for the blog header. I keep forgetting to do that until way after I post. So sorry Eulanda. I really do like it!
Fall has finally hit Nebraska. We have our new furnace turned on, the leaves are falling very fast now and the colors are spectacular this year. The temperatures will seem very fallish later this week but not quite yet. Yesterday was 75 degrees and today will be 70. But by the end of the week they are talking highs in the 50's. Oh how I hate to see it get cold but I guess the sooner it does, the sooner it will get warm again. Football is another indicator of the fall weather and our Nebraska Cornhuskers won yesterday which makes me so happy.
For my card today, I used PTI base paper and put glitters leaf stickers on it and the popped my jar up on top of the leaves. Of course I colored with my Copics and the jar is from PaperTreyInk.
Our little Lucy turned 2 on Friday. Good heavens, that really flew by quickly. I am posting a picture of how I found her when I had to return to the bedroom the other morning before going to work. She woke up but not for very long. By the time I left the room, she was sleeping again.
I am reading a very good book by Nicholas Sparks called Safe Haven. It is his newest one and well worth picking up. Oh so good. Next I plan to read The Art of Racing in the Rain. Supposedly it is a book about a dog and very very good. Anyone read it yet?
Until next time, Happy trails to you.

Fishin in the Fall
The weekend is just about over. Boy did it fly by this time. We had the boys Saturday and they went home today. We had a blast with them. They played laser tag, miniature golf, jumped in the trampoline, plugged lots quarters into lots of arcade games and rode the go Karts at a fun center close to home. We left exhausted after many hours and grabbed dinner and continued on into the evening. We were all pooped and ready for bed.
I finished a good book today. It is a super quick read and could probably be read in a day if you don't have little ones wanting your attention :) It is Promise Me by Richard Paul Evans. Different but good.
I made this card so long ago that I don't even remember a thing about it. I chalked the sky and the little fisherman is a stamp off I got from someone. The sun is a diecut that has been hanging around forever. The grass is a punch. Of course I colored with my Copic markers. I am so sorry for the vague details.
I hope your weather is as nice as ours has been. I can't believe how beautiful this fall has been

Candy Apples Anyone?
What says fall more than a big bite of a crunchy candy apple? Yum yum. Due to some dental surgery tomorrow, I don't think they are in my future this year however, next year you can bet your bootie I will be crunching with the best of them. So just because I can't eat them doesn't mean I can't look at them and wish, right? I used Papertrey Ink's new Halloween Jar Fillers and their Friendship Jar set for this card. Colored with my Copics and then added some Crystal Effects to the caramel to make it shiny. The dp is from my bag of goodies as is the ribbon. I like how this one came out. Let me know what you think.
Our trees are turning such pretty colors. You can sure tell it is fall. It won't be long before we have to pull out the rakes. We haven't turned on the furnace yet so we have a "free" month coming up. No air conditioning and no furnace. Love it!
Until we meet again, Happy trails to you...

Wedding Card
Now this was about the easiest card I have ever made and yet I think it is very elegant. I found some paper at my local LSS by TCP Studio. This one is called Mr. and Mrs. Bouquet. All I did was cut the paper to fit my card and add a rub on and two rhinestones. Truly a five minute card. It got a lot of ohhs and ahhhs. The bouquet is embossed on the paper and shiny.
I just finished a good book called Somewhere to Belong by Judith Miller. It is set in the Amana Colonies in Iowa in the late 1800's and is about a girls life there. It is very light reading and I enjoyed the refreshing story.
Our weather here has been so pretty. 70's during the day and 50's at night. Great sleeping weather and nice walking weather. I could do this year round! Unfortunately much colder temps are not to far ahead. We had such a horrible winter last year with our first snow on October 10. Some are saying it is going to be just as bad if not worse but I choose to believe that is rumor and we will have a mild winter. Sure hope I am right! Love the snow days but last year they were a lot of work!
Until next time, Happy trails to you....

Halloween and Papertrey Ink Blog Hop
I have been having so much fun with the Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar Fall Additions sets from PTI that I just can't stop making cards with them. So today when Nicole announced that they were having a blog hop showing a favorite technique I had to play along. I have a couple of favorite techniques in this card. One is paper piecing. The jack-o-lantern at the bottom is paper pieced. I don't do it often but I love it when I remember to do it. Also I colored all of the other leaves, acorns, pumpkins etc. and when finished I used a Versamark pen to emboss everything. Sprinkled on some embossing powder and heat set it. After it was dry, I was able to color in the jar. And I think it makes the image pop when you use this technique. Thanks for letting me play along Papertrey! It was fun!

School Days, School Days
Happy Saturday! I hope it is decent where you live. It rained this morning and is still cloudy. And it is only 55 degrees outside! Pretty chilly. It is warm inside though without turning on the furnace. I just hate to do that. I like one month in the spring and one in the fall when we don't have to run either the furnace or air conditioner.
My principal needed a card that was school themed. I made her a crisscross card and used some October Afternoon report card paper. The base is Bazill as well as the cream and black on the inside. The stamped kids are from a very old SU set called Kids at Play. Oh and the thank you inside is a from Stampendous. I colored all with my Copics and used a little Twinklett from Taylored Expressions for the center.
I hope you like it!
Until next time Happy trails to you....

Crayon Resist and Elements
Good morning. The week sure went fast and here it is already Friday. Yeah for the weekend! We have no big plans for this weekend so it should be very relaxing. However that can all change in a moments notice!
My card for today is revisiting an old technique called crayon resist. Stamp TV did this and I had to play along. My stamp is a very old PSX stamp. I used a white crayon for the resist and then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed. The papers are from SU and the buttons are from PaperTreyInk. Lastly I sprinkled on Elements from Barbara Trombley Earth Textures that I have had forever and not used. I will be using them again! Love the way it came out.
Until next time...Happy trails to you

Be Happy
Are you enjoying your long holiday (if you are in the USA.)? We ran errands all day yesterday and worked in the yard and house today. I did manage to sneak in a long walk and a nap today. Our weather is absolutely beautiful now. Chilly nights and warm days. I love walking when it is chilly - I could walk forever I think. Problem being I can't figure out how to make cards and walk at the same time! Or read. Occasionally I will get a book on tape but not to often.
Now on to what you came for. I made this card for a co-worker who has moved on to a new job. She worked with me for 16 years so it is a big adjustment without her. The car is from PTI set called Enjoy the Ride. Lots of cute things you can do with that set. The paper and buttons are from my stash. I used rhinestones for the headlights. I hope you like it - it was fun to make.
I have read Julie Buhler's blog for a couple of years now. Her husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and he is in a lot of pain right now. They have small children and could really use our prayers. Her link is http://paperpleasing.typepad.com/my_weblog/. If you could spare a few prayers, she would certainly appreciate it. Thanks in advance ladies.
Until next time...

Bucket of Water
Ok, I work for the school system in an elementary school where every classroom is air conditioned but the halls are not and my workspace is in the hall. It can be miserable at my desk with the heat and then add the horrible humidity and the flies - ish! But in the 26 years I have been working there, I have never had air conditioning so I am kind of used to it although I am very crabby by the end of the day. Now, I have always said if my feet are cold, I am cold all over but if they are hot, I am just done. So I made a card to propose an idea to the superintendent. Nah, I won't be brave enough to send it but I'm telling you it would work!
The stamp is a Bildmalarna stamp and colored with my Copics. The grass is cut with my Martha Stewart grass punch and the background paper is from my stash. She is cut with my Nesties. I think she is kinda cute and she looks oh so cool, don't you think?
Until next time... Happy trails to you

Flowers Galore
I had some time today so of course chose to make a card. I used an old PaperTreyInk set titled Honey Bees and I know that it is a case but for the life of me can't remember where I saw it! I used PTI paper to stamp on and used SU Lavender Lace, Versa Color Canary, Momento Angel Pink, Cantaloupe, Bamboo Shoots, and New Sprout inks. I popped some of the flowers up on pop dots and then used Lasting Impressions paper to finish it off and for the card. The ribbon is from PTI as well. Oh! Almost forgot the bling is from Taylored Expressions. I think it looks very summery. Not at all wilted like everything around here. It has been so hot and humid that everything is wilted.
We made it through the first week of school! Yippee. It will be easier from now on. Tons of paperwork but the majority of the new enrollments is over and parents know where their kiddos are and teachers are beginning to know their students. All is well. Now if our buses would come on time we would be happy. The bus company is short drivers and the new ones are still learning their routes. This will even itself out in another couple of weeks.
Until next time... Happy trails to you.....

Flower Faces
Hi! Boy have I been busy - this working takes a big chunk out of my day. So I go to work, then come home and take Lucy for her walk and after that we usually go to the dog park for an hour. We come home and I fix something to eat, toss in a load of laundry and do whatever else has to be done around the house. If I am very lucky I get to color an image or put together a card. Then it is to bed and begin all over again. Don't get me wrong, I do love my job and can't imagine working anywhere else. There just are not enough hours in the day for me. Now on to my card. I just received some stamps from Just Peachy and used them for this card. I used Lasting Impressions paper for this card and colored them with my Copics. I used Stickles on the bees wings and some Crystal Effects on the lady bugs and butterfly. Easy peasy!
Until next time, Happy trails to you.....

Sympathy and More
First of all I want to tell you to jump on over to Claudia's blog http://rosaswelt.blogspot.com/ for a chance to win a stamp of your choice from Whiff of Joy. While you are there, look around. She does some amazing work.
Sometimes you need a sympathy card and just don't have the time to drop everything and make one. I made this one in advance and hope I don't have to use it for a very long time. It is simply PTI white cardstock that I scored with my ScorPal and then used another piece of the cardstock and scored it with my ScorPal. The violets are from Michaels and are rub ons by Royal E-Z company. There is some sparkle on them as well. I just couldn't pass them up when I saw them. To top it off, they are very easy to apply.
Boy is it hot here. 95 with heat index above 100 all week. No rain or relief in site. The nights are only in the 80's so that isn't helping. Sure makes you want to stay inside! We have our grandpuppy this week. She is a little Min Pin by the name of Bailey. She and our little Lucy have become very good friends and we have really enjoyed having her here. I will say that is it much harder to have two dogs than one, but we have had so many laughs that it has made it all worthwhile. Lucy sure will miss her when she goes back home on Tuesday. I think we will as well!

Happy Birthday
This is a card I made for a friend, (hi Joni!) who is having a birthday. Right now she is on a cruise to Spain etc. so she won't be seeing this before the big day. The base of the card is PaperTreyInk cardstock. The background paper has been in my stash for so many years I have no idea who made it but I am pretty sure it has been retired for a very long time. The image is one of Taylored Expressions (www.tayloredexpressions.com). Joni is a teacher and heading back to school soon so I thought this would be perfect for her birthday in August. The blue down the side is a strip from Doodlebug's paper frills and then I put some Rain Dots from Cloud 9 on top of it. The image was colored with my Copic markers and then chalked around.
Well, tomorrow is THE DAY. After having 8 wonderful weeks at home I have to go back to work. Golly I swear that 8 weeks goes faster every year. I will sure miss being at home with Bill and Lucy and going for my early morning walks. Oh well, 10 months from now I can do it again. And the time does go very quickly once I am there and going. I hope your summer is rolling along at a very slow pace and you can enjoy every minute.
Until next time, Happy Trails to You.....

Friends
Another week has flown by. Where does the time go? We are a week post op and my husband is doing well. He has had some good days and some not so good days but every day he is a little stronger.
It is so very hot here and we have had so much rain that the mosquitoes look like hornets! Golly but they are big. So the best thing to do is to stay inside and stamp!
A good friend of mine, hi Georgia! took care of Lucy when we were at the hospital. I made a thank you card to go with her gift. Today I will share the thank you card. I used October Afternoon Alphabet Cards, October Afternoon Report Card Paper, a Martha Stewart Punch and also a Tonic punch with the stars. The base card is PaperTreyInk white card stock. The piece where the punched stars are was a scrap I had and then I sponged Tim Holtz's Distressed Antique Linen ink over it. I liked how it came out. What do you think?
Until next time, Happy trails to you...

Hydrangia
This card was made using a beautiful stamp that my friend, Georgia had. I don't think there was a name on it and she did say it was one of her oldest stamps. I colored the flower with my Copics. The paper is from a K&Co. pack I bought at a garage sale. The black paper it is outlined with is Bazzill and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. Finally I sponged around the design with chalk ink.
I mentioned my husband's surgery the last time. Well now it is over. We are still in the hospital as the surgery was yesterday (Friday) but the doctors have been in and released him to go home so we should be home by lunchtime. He has some restrictions - no hot coffee or soups as they could cause severe swelling in his throat. No driving and he has to wear a foam brace or collar for 2 - 3 weeks. Hey we can live with that. He is feeling pretty good. I stayed at the hospital all night and I bet neither of us slept for more than an hour and a half all night. Our own bed will feel so good tonight! Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers. They worked!
Until next time, Happy trails to you

Butterflies and Bees
Are you seeing more butterflies than normal? I sure am. They are flitting everywhere I look lately. We have had an extremely wet summer (it is raining again as I write this) and also hot and humid. I know we have more mosquitos - they are like B52 bombers they are so big! I try to stay inside in the evenings as even the skitter juice is not working on them.
Todays card was so simple. When I went to DesMoines IA in June there is a store called Heirlooms By Design that we always visit. They had a board of cards up that they were having a class on and the card I made was one similar to what they had. It is stickers by Penny Black and then 3D stickers by K&Co. The paper was stash. I added some Stickles to the sticker by Penny Black. I also made one of some of the Bees that came on the same sheet of 3D stickers. The paper was some I picked up at Archivers but didn't write down the name of it. I think they both turned out really pretty. What do you think?
If you can, I would appreciate a few prayers on Friday as my husband, Bill has to have spinal surgery. We are a tad bit nervous about it although we trust and like his doctors very much. Thanks so much
Until next time, Happy trails to you....

Happy Birthday America
We are going to a block party for the 4th of July. They are predicting rain so we will see what happens. I can't even remember the last time we had rain on the 4th. I do remember many years ago when the girls were little, it was so cold we went to the fireworks display in winter coats and then came home and had hot chocolate. Another 4th that stands out is when we were in Jackson Hole WY. and the fireworks display was to be right behind our cabin. Again it was very cold that night so we stayed outside until we couldn't feel our toes and then went inside and three of us were huddled in the bathroom trying to look out a very tiny window. Michelle was with us that time and we still occasionally talk about that time. Do any 4th of July celebrations stand out in your mind? God Bless America!
My card is an adorable stamp set made for Archivers by Stampendous called Summer Cuties, the fireworks is a sticker from my stash as is the USA and stars sticker. The paper is from Archivers and called Huckleberry. I added some stripes from PTI's Distressed Stripes in the background. Oh and of course I used my Copics to color it and then went over the sunglasses with a clear Spicka pen for glitter. Easy peasy!
Until next time, Happy Trails to you...

Taylored Expressions Challenge #118
When I was waiting to be off work for the summer, one of the things I wanted to do was to participate in some challenges. Well, I have been off for almost a month and the time has flown by and I had not had a chance to enter any challenges. When Taylor put this one up the other day I knew I could do it so I put my thinking cap on and started working on it. Now it took me a couple of days working a little here and a little there. It seems I can't sit down and start and complete a card in one sitting lately. This is my completed card. I do like the sketch and it was fun to do. I used Taylor's set called Oh the Places You'll Go (http://www.tayloredexpressions.com/). I love her stamps. They are very deeply etched and they stamp so nicely. Anyway, I love this set as I love to give that book for graduations so to make a card that matches is just wonderful! I have also used it for birthday cards and encouragement cards. I colored with my Copic markers, the paper is a mix from PTI and SU. The used a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom and of course my Nesties to cut with. I am looking forward to doing more of her challenges.
Until next time... Happy trails to you

When I was in Des Moines I saw some cards made with stickers and I thought they were beautiful. I had to try my hand at them when I got home. They were very quick and easy to make and I must say I was impressed with the way they turned out. I used paper from Archivers and I am sorry to say I don't know who made it. The flat stickers are from Penny Black and the three D stickers are from K and CO. I added some stickles to the flowers on the flat stickers.
It is really very hot here. After about 5 days and nights of violent storms (no tornado) where we had limbs down and flooding, we are now experiencing heat and humidity. Today was 97 degrees but I haven't heard the heat index. Tomorrow they are saying a heat index of over 105 degrees. Yikes! I think I will stay inside. They are calling for storms tomorrow night but I hope they are wrong.
Until next time... Happy trails to you

Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to all of the dad's out there. Here in Omaha, it is a gray gloomy rainy day but perhaps that is keeping the dad's inside and not working in the yards. It is a good day to snuggle up and read. Here is the card my husband got. It is the new Gone Fishing set from Gina K. I had the patterned paper in my stash and popped the image up with pop dots. I also popped the fins of the fish up with small pop dots.
Until next time... Happy trails to you....

Iowa
Our Yahoo group trip was just as wonderful as I knew it would be. When we first arrived we lunched then shopped at Heirlooms in Valley Junction and then went to the motel. We got settled and then had a gabfest that lasted til about midnight with a break for dinner at the Machine Shed. When I say break, that does not mean a break in gabbing, just in location! The next day, Lynette, Harriet and I always start by a 30 minute walk and then we can begin our adventure for that day. The first day we went to Archivers when they opened and stayed all day until closing time. We did some stamp exchanges, some tutorials, of course lots of talking, eating and shopping! Annie, who could not be with us sent an amazing package of card parts for us to make into cards. Thanks Annie! And Char could not come either so she sent Flat Char so she could participate! You will see her in the picture of Taylor, Taylor's mom Linda, and me. On Tuesday, we went to Taylor's house - yes, that Taylor of Taylored Expressions! www.tayloredexpressions.com. Are we lucky or what??? Harriet had arranged this for us and I was so excited as I have purchased from her and love her things. I also read her blog daily and have for a long time so I felt like I knew her a little bit. When we arrived, we each made a card that she had set out parts for, (see the card above) then she showed us how she used some stencils and then we shopped and shopped and shopped! It was so fun to see how her business works and to meet her very young mother, Linda and Taylor's fabulous husband, Jon. Linda helped wherever she could and Jon checked us out and added up our totals. To top it all off, Taylor had a cupcake for each of us along with lemonade and a goodie bag. She is just the sweetest lady! We then all went as a group to lunch for our farewell and then some shopped a little more at Michaels. All good things have to come to an end and now we have wonderful memories and we are looking forward to next year when we get to do it all again.
Until next time... Happy Trails to you.....

Summer Time Fun
Oh my goodness, I didn't realize it had been so long since I have posted. A lot has happened in that time. School is out for the summer and I get 8 weeks off. One of them is already gone. Boy the time goes quickly when I am home! I have been trying to clean out some stuff that should have been gone a very long time ago. Several trips to the Goodwill store and I am beginning to feel a little lighter. We are getting a new furnace and air conditioner later on this month and my storage is across from the furnace. I had to clean it out so the guys could work there. On Sunday I am going to meet my stamping friends for our annual get together. We will meet on Sunday, stamp all day on Monday and then on Tuesday we will go to Taylor Van Bruggen's house of the famous Taylored Expressions for a make and take. I have several of her stamp sets and love her blog. I have been a fan for a very long time so I am really excited to meet her in person! It will be a great time. I look forward to this trip from the time we say goodbye and it is a whole year away.
My card today reminds me of a nice summer day with my grandsons. We need to take them fishing this summer. The little guy on the card was colored with Copics and mounted on Paper Trey Ink paper. The sun is a die I found in my stash. The grass was cut using my MS grass punch and I used Bazzill paper for the grass.
Tell me what you think.
Until next time, Happy trails to you....

More Bright Flowers
I said I would post the second card I made using PaperTreyInk's Floral Frenzy and here it is. It is very much the same but very different. They are such quick cards to whip up. When I took the picture this card looked ok but now I see that it looks like the top got cut off. Well, imagine if you can, that there is equal sides all the way around. Some day I may learn to take better pictures but until that happens I count on you all to have great imaginations!
If you are in the USA we have a three day weekend going. Boy are we all ready or what? In Nebraska Memorial Day weekend is usually wet and sometimes pretty chilly. This year they are calling for a small chance of rain on Sunday but the rest of the weekend should be nice. I am not complaining! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend as well. Anyone doing anything special?
I have one more day to work before summer vacation starts. And that is Tuesday. I will only be there a short time and then gone. Eight glorious weeks to do what I want when I want. It is amazing how fast those eight weeks go though. Once I walk out of that door it is about time to turn around and walk back in.
I am reading a new Debbie Macomber book called Hannah's List and it is starting out very good. I hope to read a lot this summer. Sitting on the deck with a big glass of ice water and a good book. Ahhhh the life :)
Until next time, Happy trails to you....

Sad day and bright flowers
Today was a very tough day for us. Remember a short while ago when I said my sister in law was ill? Well, it turned out to be lung cancer and she died on Saturday night. She was a very very special lady and loved by everyone she met. Her funeral was today. We all know that she is pain free and in a much better place. I just wish we could have one more get together and laugh together.
On a happier note, I used a PTI set named Floral Frenzy and made 2 different but alike cards. I like the happy colors they are. One I sent to a friend for her retirement and that is the one i am posting today. Next time I will post the other one.
I would love to know what you think of it.
Until next time, happy trails to you......

Birthday Donkey
I wondered if I would ever find the time to blog again! It has been extremely busy every day. But today was the kids last day of school and I only have to work another 6 days and I will be free for 8 wonderful weeks! So the end is in sight. Because of that crazy-ness I am showing you a card that I made a while back for a friend. It was colored with my Copic markers and I just added strips of paper from my scrap pile. A little bling was added and voila, a finished card. Thanks so much for looking and until next time,
Happy trails to you, ......

Mother's Day and Teenagers
Happy Mothers Day to all! I hope you had a wonderful day. We had a very nice day in spite of the very chilly weather and clouds for most of the day. My oldest daughter celebrated with us last night while my youngest daughter and her family will come next weekend. We decided to postpone it until the weather was nicer. The weather is goofy all over from what we are hearing. What's up with that?
My card today is for a friend who needed a card for a teenage niece. I thought of this old Stampin Up! set right away. I colored it with my Copic markers and used Bazzill papers excet for the card base which is PTI white. On the inside I stamped "Whatever!" from that same set. Boy it sounds typical to me.
Until next time... happy trails to you

Summery Magnolia
WOW! May 1 is just 2 hours away. What happened to April? It sure did fly by quickly, didn't it? I am knee deep in end of the year school stuff but it is all good. 3 more weeks and the kids are out for the summer. Next week we look forward to our track and field day, the next week we have our annual talent show and the it is the last week with class picnics and 6th grade recognition. This year really went fast.
Our weather has been so nice lately. Very comfortable temperatures but yesterday it was very warm and humid and it made me think of this card I made back in January when we had lots and lots of snow on the ground. I thought if I made it, it might warm me up or at the very least remind me that spring and summer will get her eventually.
I used a Magnolia stamp from http://magnoliastamps.us/store2/ and then the Stampin Up set called Sparkling Summer for the summery items on the side. I used PaperTreyInk paper and colored it with my Copic markers.
Thanks for looking at my blog. I really enjoy each and every comment you make. Until next time ... Happy Trails to you

Stamping Bella Sale
I have a friend who is trying to make room for more stamps so she is selling her collection of Stamping Bella's. She mentions that none of her stamps are stained and have only been used a couple of times.
If you're interested or know someone who is you can find them at Eulanda's blog

Help wanted
Ok, I have seen a ton of cards using several different papers. So I went to my LSS and bought 4 papers in the same line of Bo Bunny. I came home and used 3 of them on this card and for some reason it does not look like everyone else's. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I love this little girl from Bildi. Their faces are just the sweetest. Of course I colored with my Copics. Oh and check out the lace I got from Sharon Johnson over at http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/
We spent the whole day outside. I am loving spring this year. We mowed the lawn for the first time and edged the yard. Lucy and I took a long walk and then we took her to the dog park. We then went out to grab dinner and came home and did a lot of other little chores around the house. Oh we also turned on the sprinklers for the first time! That means it is officially spring!
Before I close I have to tell you about the wonderful blog candy over at Jodi From Oz! Check it out! http://jodiefromoz.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-blog-candy-magnolia-winter-kit.html

Happy Easter
Good morning. We are going to have a beautiful day here in Nebraska. The sun is shining and there is not a cloud in the sky. Temperature is a little cool at 50 degrees but it sure beats 20 degrees or below! Since tomorrow is Easter, I thought I should post one more Easter card before it is too late. I also would like to wish you all a very happy Easter if you celebrate it and if you don't then a very happy Sunday!
Until next time Happy trails to you.....

For Judy
My sister in law is in the hospital so I made a card for her. I used my JustRite Thinking of You stamp set. I used white cardstock for the base from PTI and Bazzill paper for the yellow and green. I colored with my Copic markers using #BV000, BV02, BV08, YG23 and Yg 67, Y06, Y13, and Y38. The butterfly is the new die from PTI along with the Butterfly Dreams set from PTI. The ribbon is from my stash. I added some Crystal Effects to the flowers to make them look dewy and some glitter on the butterfly.
It looks like spring may finally have arrived in Nebraska. This week has been in the 50's all week which meant I got to walk every day and Lucy got to go to the puppy park every day. It has been a wonderful week off for spring break but now it is back to work on Monday. We will have 39 day of school when we get back. Summer is on the way :)
Until next time... Happy trails to you!

Happy Spring???
Happy Spring to all! It is 34 degrees here this afternoon with a wind chill of 22. And we had snow yesterday so the ground is white. On Thursday it got up to almost 70. Only in Nebraska, yes? It is supposed to get nicer again but not 60's or 70's for awhile. I am on spring break this next week and was hoping for beautiful weather so I could be outside but don't think that will happen. Oh well, a week away from work is a good thing no matter what the weather, right?
Today's card features another Bildmalarna stamp. Did you know that Bildmalarna means picture painter in Swedish? This sweetie is stamped on white cardstock and cut out with my Nesties along with the scallop oval behind it. That paper is PTI's Sweet Blush. The pink paper is from Moxie and the blue flowered paper is from Cosmo Cricket. The flower is from my stash and the button is from Lasting Impressions. It was colored with my Copic markers. My friend Linda sent me this image, so thank you so very much, Linda

Birthday Girl
Happy Friday! Boy this week flew by, didn't it? We have one more week of school until spring break. Don't know who is more ready, the kids or the staff. This gal is certainly ready! It snowed here on Thursday all day a slushy heavy wet snow but it didn't stick so we didn't have to shovel it. But I am so ready for spring that I just hated seeing that snow. It was really pretty and normally I would think that but not this year. Ok, enough of my ramblings. My card this week is a new image for me. She is a stamp by Bild malarna. Isn't she adorable? I have two of them and love their little faces. I made her for a friend who I hope doesn't look at my blog. Tande has a St. Patrick's Day birthday so I had to put a little green on her. I hope you like her.
Until next time, Happy trails to you

Easter Chicks
This is my second post tonight. I can't get enough of making Easter cards. I think it is the coming of spring after such a hard long winter. The colors, the flowers, the thoughts of anything spring just make me happy. Tonight it is raining outside and I am loving the sound it makes. Unfortunately it is too cold to open windows so I stick my head outside once in awhile. Now it is not a hard rain but just a little drip drip but it is still rain and not snow! The card I am showing tonight was colored with my Copic markers but I didn't keep the colors out unfortunately. The paper is Bazzill cardstock. I pierced around the white Paper Trey Ink paper. I hope you enjoy it.
Until next time, Happy trails to you...
